Updates From The Home Front

Yesterday was not fun, not that I thought it would be. My father's surgery was an on and off thing from 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m. He got home a few minutes before I came home from work.

They found three spots of cancer that had to be removed. The biggest part was near his ear. They took one spot from his cheek and another from his lip.

To all you smokers out there. This is a small reason why you shouldn't. M'kay?

They had to do some skin grafting and he's got a bandage that makes him look like a mummy. Which in some cases is funny, but the fact that for almost a week he's restricted from doing some things that are really basic, makes it not so.

He's only allowed to eat soft foods for the first 24 hours. No bending. He's not allowed to turn his head, because the main cuts were by his ear. This also means he's not able to wear his glasses. That also adds to the trouble. Without the glasses, no driving.

So I'm going to be a very busy girl for a week. Plus I'm going to have to take a half day at work next Thursday to take him to the doctors.
