Trying To Get It Together

I have a book problem..and I'm trying to get some of that situated.

I've always had a hard time parting with books, but my house is tiny and they are taking over the world.

Its time for a purge.

I hate purging, but I know it will be for the best. Maybe not for me, but for my house

I had planned on going through my books last night. I was trying to find the books I read (and will likely not read again) and get them ready for the library book sale or goodwill or somewhere other than my bedroom floor.

I couldn't find the first book I knew I had read..and my motivation was gone. I couldn't do it.

I sat on the floor and played with my cat.

The worst part, is I am having a horrible time reading lately. I've been trying to avoid new book tours because my attention span is similar to that of a fruit fly.

I feel like since my dad got sick, my reading went downhill...and then with the move to the new house..and that was in 2015...it got even worse. Its like I don't have a comfort spot to read. I always thought my room would be my fabulous book nook in this house..and I told my mom that, and I think that its the universe's way of punishing me for wanting a spot to myself that I can't read now that I have it.

It also needs said, that I would rather have my mama then my reading spot, but that's obvious to most who know me.

How the heck do you get out of a slump this big?

Where Have I Been?

Well its been quite awhile since I blogged here last.

Where have I been.

I think the simple answer is work.

I'm working my regular job M-F but I'm also picking up around 15 hours at Lowes now a week, so my ends have a chance to meet.

I have to admit, I'm tired.

Very very tired.

Which is why I haven't been stringing many sentences together lately.

I have been reading a bit more, which is fabulous and practicing my bookstgram stuff. Here are a few of my bookish photos. Can you tell I love my new lantern?

I think if I didn't have books right now I'd lose my mind.

I've read 145 books so far this year and it is only Sept!

I've given new genres a try, but I have to say I have a healthy addiction to historical fiction and cozy mysteries. Of course, I still love a good romance, cos that's the girly side of me coming out, but I'm really open to new things when it comes to reading.

I just wish the elibrary were bigger...and my own library less of a scary place to go, because with all the vet bills I've just paid, I'm not going to be buying many books for awhile.

That thought really pains me, because there are three things I love buying, books, music and clothes, and right now I can't afford any of them.

So thank god for places like Net Galley that let me read books for free as long as I review them.

Life is good, as long as I have a book to read! (And a cat to pet!)

So you wanna bet I can make it to 200 books this year?
