Weekend Recap

~ Won a raffle at the church festival. That will help with the household bills.

~ Drank Pepsi and Sierra Mist spiked with whiskey. Drank a few shots of whiskey straight...The priest informed me that I was lit and asked me when I was going to dance. (The whole bake sale booth was a bit...erm...lit)

~ Father Jerry is my new favorite priest.

~ The two kids I live with..you know the 77 and 85 year old kids? They are driving me insane.

~ The church festival was the first time I've been outside of my house for longer than 3 hours. I need to get out more often.

~ Made an awesome Apricot Pork Roast in the slow cooker, Ask and I shall share the simple recipe!

The Weekend Is Winding Down

It has been a crazy awesome weekend. Craig Ferguson was incredible last night in Greensburg. There was so much funny that I don't even know where to start, but I will try to post a review over at Wenches tomorrow. Until then, you can check out some of my photos over here. Let me know which ones you like, so I can use them in my review post.

Today I took dad out to eat at Rock Bottom Brewery @ The Waterfront. I don't think I've ever spent $40.00 on dinner for 2 people before and that was a salad for me, a pot pie for him and two beers! Yikes!

I spent scads of money @ The Waterfront, mostly on books and stuff that smells good. Yes, that means, Bath and Body Works had a sale and I had a coupon. Not a good combination financially especially as the car is costing me a mint this weekend. But you know, sometimes you just have to say Fuck it! Plus I didn't buy anything at the show last night, so I deserved a little treat.

The only problem is, I really can't afford to do much of anything now for the next few weeks.

Weekend Recap

~ The scale hits 130 at home again. Can I get a Yee haa for that. I'm between 5-10 lbs of the goal I have for myself. Depending on the scale I'm on. The scale at Jack's where I work out, says 135, but that's with workout clothes, my gram's scale is around 133. Either way...I'm almost back where I should be. ALMOST.

~ Did some Christmas shopping, both for presents, myself and the house! I have new garland and some ornaments for the tree; I also have Bath & Body stuff bought for a few people in the house for gifts and I have some new clothes for me. Woot! Presents for everyone. It's all about win!

~ The vanilla lattes at Eat N' Park are wonderful. I'm still sulking that I didn't get to try the cranberry pumpkin cheesecake.

~ Waffle House makes a chili cheese omelet. OMG it is so good. That was my lone meal yesterday and it was worth every damn bite. I love Waffle House.

~ I wish there was some different way to get my cardio going on at the gym. The elliptical is getting boring and I just don't like the treadmill. However I will plug away at the elliptical because I can do 45 minutes on the damn thing now, much to my own chagrin.

~ I managed to not get the laundry done this weekend. Grrr. That means Tuesday is laundry day, and there's a lot of it this time. Boo! That suck!

~ I didn't finish reading Stillwatch either. What the hell did I do on Saturday besides shovel coal and go to the dollar store?

~ There's a new pizza place in my hamlet of Charleroi On Mon. It's called Paolo's and they are full of win. They make pizza fries. One word; YUM!

Weekend Recap

Saturday

~ The most beautiful day of my summer. Seriously. At least once I found my courage. Before 4 o'clock I was a nervous wreck

~ Discovered that Fishy's b-day is Monday. Contemplated bopping him in his cute little noggin, because I wouldn't get a b-day card for him on time.

~ Ate a halfway decent Reuban sandwich that took way too long to get to me, but I'm not complaining too much.

~ Took several pictures of Fishy for my viewing enjoyment.

~ Had a very strong burst of courage that I think only could have been a result of drinking one Bud Light. Yes...this (use your imagination) was brought to you by Bud Light and a girl that didn't eat much all day. Can you say, warm fuzzy feelings?

~ Grinned stupidly the remainder of the day.

Sunday

~ Went to church...thanked god for the courage, just in case it wasn't the Bud Light. (I'm still thinking it was, but I like to cover all my bases)

~ Did the laundry with gram.

~ Scurried off to Walmart to find a b-day card for the Feeshy.

~ Tried to decide which Elvis Costello concert CD should be his b-day present.

~ Brain exploded.

~ Found the best bootleg...copied it and thus will send it on its merry way to Fishy tomorrow as a belated b-day gift.

Weekend Recap

Saturday:

I had a wonderful meal at The Union Grill in Washington, PA, which is located directly behind WJPA's studios. How did I not know that? I worked a block away from there for several years during college. Oye! I'm foolish.

The only bad thing I can say about the place is it's pricey. A little too pricey for the type of food I can get at Red Dawg's or Meloni's. Still it was good, and since I wasn't paying, I'm not complaining.

The remake of Hairspray was awesome. There wasn't a bad moment in the movie. John Travolta, who is one of my least favorite actors, right above Tom Cruise, was fantastic. Queen Latifah was a true queen. Oh and Christopher Walken rocks my socks.

The music and costumes were perfect. I wanted to nab some of those early 60's dresses. They were so gorgeous.

Walked 5 miles at the walking path. Can I get a woot? Please?

Sunday:

My sister, the youngest nephew and I headed to "The Burgh" today to go to Phipps. Lordy was that a mistake. CMU aka the richy rich uni from hell, had something going on and Phipps was a madhouse of obnoxious soccer moms and no it alls. The flowers and the Chihuly glass exhibit were gorgeous...but the people ruined the experience.

However it was great to see that this was the same glass used to make those fantastic chandeliers at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

We ate dinner at Mad Mex in Oakland. One word, YUM! I had a Thai Curry Burrito with tofu. The burrito was full of rice and peanuts and pineapple and oh was it scrumptious. It was washed down by an ice cold Corona. Double yum.

We all took a ride on the carousel in Oakland and then got a pina colada bubble drink.

If the people hadn't been so obnoxious the day would have been perfect.

Pictures will follow in the next day or so.

Weekend Recap

It's been a good weekend. Got some stuff done. Had some good food. Shopped a little.

~ Saturday

Yummy Mexican food for dinner from The Three Amigos in my little hamlet of Charleroi-On-Mon. Stuffed Pablano Peppers = Mouth on fire, but they are also tasty. So is the sweet corn bread. Oh and did I mention half price margaritas? Helluva good dinner.

I walked 5 miles at the walking path, doing my best to sort some issues out in my head. It didn't work, but hey, I walked 5 miles!

Did the laundry. Can I get a woot for that? I hate laundry.

Watched a fantastic comedian on of all places the Christian network. Paul Aldrich is a dang (cos it's a Christian comedian) funny guy. He's proof that I can laugh til I pee myself, even without the use of profanity or too much sexual innuendo. Seriously, this guy is worth checking out.

~ Sunday

Went to the Mart of Wal to stock up on the week's lunches. I am keeping Kraft and the South Beach Diet people in money, I swear. Bought one naughty thing. Saw pigs in pancakes in the frozen food aisle. I couldn't resist, damn it. I just couldn't.

Set off to Washington Crown Center, growled in a nice way at Fishy's general direction. Spent $34 I don't have on clothes that I don't have any place to wear. Can you say impulse buy?

Ate dinner at Red Robin. Oh how I love Red Robin. My sammich was the bruschetta chicken with parmesan garlic fries. My stomach was having orgasms, I kid you not. Oh and my drinky poo? Freckled lemonade. Bliss. (Oh that's strawberry lemonade, with huge chunks of strawberries) All in all, better than sex. Not that I'd know anything about sex.

Walked another 5 miles at the walking path. Still did not rid my head of the worries and other stuff that has been floating around that vast empty area inside my head.

Composed an "I'm a tard" email to the fishy one...I'm hoping he'll take pity on me and send a note back. Bets are on now that he won't. That's where my money is anyway.
