Happy Mother's Day

Two of the ladies that shaped my life

100_8370

This is a picture of my mom and my gram, on gram's 100th b-day back in 2007. I can't believe she's been gone 3 years. It is on days like this that we all miss her terribly.

I'm glad that after all the health problems my mom has had over the years, that we still have her. I can't begin to fathom what my life would be like without her.

I love you mom!

Happy Mother's Day

To the 2 women that have loved me more.

Mom: You've put up with so much from me, school, relationships, jobs. You've criticized for all the right reasons. Sometimes I listened, sometimes I didn't. But no matter what you always loved me. You always were there with a hug and kiss and a shoulder when I needed it. A huge heart, so full of love. You've taught me how to love and you gave me my faith. I hope there are many more mother's days to celebrate together.

Grandma: Always a dollar to spare. Always a hug and a kiss. Always a word of advise that I didn't want to hear, but always you. Always a smell of Olay and Rose Milk hand cream. Always a smile. Always a lady. Always a sparkle in your eye. Someone to share my smutty novels with. What am I going to do without you? Love you so much more than you could imagine, grandma.

And now a few of grandma and a little grandbaby that looks suspiciously like me from some Christmases in the 70s.

Happy Mother's Day

For close to 33 years (Damn close...I've got a birthday coming up in July) she's been my best friend. She's listened to all my insanity....musical obsessions (and she's shared some of them. imagine if you will a little semi religious lady getting down to Oingo Boingo's Insects), work issues, and all my short lived relationship/crushes.

She's been there to pick up the pieces and glue them back together even when she wasn't well enough to do it. Let me tell you there's been a lot of pieces to glue back together.

I'm thankful that today I still have to to say Happy Mother's Day too. (There have been some close calls over the recent years) And yes, I've rearranged my life to still be sitting in the house I grew up in. It's my choice and one I wouldn't change. I know I'm needed here...more than anywhere else...and I wouldn't change that for the world.

Happy Mother's Day!

I love ya, Mom!

And to celebrate Mom's Day....a few pictures of my mom through the years.
