Busy Busy Busy

I wanted to blog yesterday, but I really got busy with house stuff.

I cleaned my dining room buffet, mopped the floor, took a lot of stuff to the basement, where I cleaned off some shelving.

Got the bathroom looking pretty shiny too.

Made mom a meatloaf for her lunches this week.

Seriously folks, being on a low sodium diet makes meal planning a bitch. Mom is on a very low sodium diet, and besides veggies, I have no idea what to feed her that won't land her in the hospital with IV lasix.

Oh and I bought my Daybed. Found a great buy at Wayfair for $100.00 and a Serta mattress locally for $250!

Now I just need to get a nice cozy throw and my room will be a reading nook!

Woo hoo!

Hopefully by next week everything will be all situated.

Oh and ham bbq taquitos are absolutely delish!

You Can Never Go Home

I went back to the old house today to get some more stuff out. Mostly it was to get stuff out so I could take it to Goodwill or the library or wherever.

My brother in law, is going to take the house, and so far he's gutted the place. It isn't pretty.

It looked so lonely and so small, even though it is a much larger house than the one I'm living in now.

I'm tired and hurt and if there wasn't so much stuff that needs to come over here I'd never set foot over there.

Nerves I Has Em

The closing date on the house is June 27, so I should have a shiny house for my birthday this year.

I'm scared to death.

I've lived in my current residence since I was brought home from the hospital in 1974 and my parents moved in in 1967.

There's a lot of memories in these walls.

So, there's a lot of guilt involved in this move. Irrational guilt.

I just have so much going on in my tiny little brain.

I hope to get back to blogging on a regular basis someday soon.

I just don't know when that will be.

Maybe when I have pictures of my pretty new house.

Updates

A few things that have been going on.

1. My offer was accepted on the house!! I'm waiting on the lawyer and bank now.

2. I've become addicted to the show Ancient Aliens on the History Channel.

3. My sleep patterns suck.

4. I'm so stressed, I'm having a hard time reading, and I hate not being able to read.

5. Life without Jon Stewart on The Daily Show is going to be very painful.

You've Got To Admit It's Getting Better

And I wish that were the case.

For the last three months there hasn't been a day that I haven't cried. And I cry for so many reasons. I cry because I miss my father. I want to hold him. I want to talk to him. I want him to fix things, even though in the last year, he wasn't able to do that.

It was just his presence that made me feel like things would be ok.

Now that he's not here, I know that they won't be ok.

There are things I can't fix, and frankly I don't know what to do.

I'm trying to find a house and nothing that's in my price range will work for mom and I. The thought of moving from the only house I've ever lived in, scares the crap out of me and I know I'm mostly going to be doing it on my own.

I keep thinking, it is getting better. I have accomplished things. Maybe we'll find a house. Maybe things will be all right for awhile.

It can't get much worse, as Lennon sang

Don't Bother Me, I'm Reading

I had every intention of squeeing that I finally got to go to a restaurant yesterday, but when I got home, the internet was down and I got lost in a book.

Seriously, sometimes it is good not to have an internet connection.

I've read some really good books in the last month. So that is a plus

But that doesn't stop me from telling you if you have a chance to get a Cajun Clam Poor Boy at Redd Dawg's in Belle Vernon you should get one..like ASAP!

Oh and wash it down with a birthday cake martini..

Oh and since I didn't get to do it yesterday....Squee

The Daily Blah Blah Blahs

~ May end up working part time for awhile because of mom's health. Not sure yet though

~ Have to write a check for 22 cents tomorrow. Seriously, how do you even do that?

~ Got $12.00 back from the local tax authority. Woot!

~ Made country fried steak for the first time and I think I succeeded! That's my favorite comfort food of all time. Now if only I didn't have to toss dad outside while I do the frying.

~ I need sleep. Badly...like 8 hours of it. If I don't get it soon, I think I may end up in the hospital with exhaustion. Does anyone care? No I didn't think so.

~ Bought the new Zac Brown CD...now if only I could listen to it.

~ Desperately want to have a movie night, but I can't keep my eyes open long enough to watch one.

~ Mitt Romney is an asshat and I want tax breaks for my cats if he gets one for his freaking horse.

Too Much Going On

~ Dad is still in the hospital. He's got some plumbing issues now to be resolved. Of course, with the heat we are having right now, he's better off in the hospital.

~ Today was one of those horrible awful days, from the time we got up until now...nothing but suckage.

~ The transport van people managed to crack the wheel of mom's chair. Not really their fault, the fault of the chair. Didn't make mom feel good about going out for the first time in a year.

~ A bird conked himself out on our screen door.

~ Dad woke us at 4 a.m. just too talk to mom. Do you know how many years you lose when you see the hospital number come on the caller id at 4 a.m.?
