Feeling Girlie Lately

OK, this hasn't been me in a very long time.

But in the last few weeks I've been experimenting with makeup again.

Back in my 20s I could drop a small fortune on cosmetics. I was totally in love with Chanel lipsticks, and we won't even discuss how much those things cost.

A year or so ago, I started getting IPSY bags, mostly to try out new skin care stuff.

That's one thing I've always tried to be good with.

I do my best to take care of my skin, even though at 45, soon to be 46 my skin still breaks out like a teenager.

But for some reason lately I've been watching makeup tutorials and I've learned how to do contouring and highlighting. (At least with Wet N' Wild Megaglo sticks)

I'm really not sure what prompted this, but I'm doing more to make myself "presentable" these days.

I'm also addicted to pretty smelling hand cream and body lotions.

Strange, isn't it?

Drat & Double Drat

Bath and Body Works Chocolate Amber Body Splash 8 oz I've always loved the scents at Bath & Body Works. I had one older body wash that I hadn't used yet, but started using this week, Chocolate Amber.

I fell in love with it.

Which means it is now discontinued. The remaining bottles of the body spray sell for $30.00 on amazon. That's double what it originally sold for in the stores.

The unfairness of it all.

All the scents I've really loved have been retired over the past few years. I'm just happy that Juniper Breeze and Flowering Herbs sometime resurface at sale times again. I don't think I'll be that lucky with this one. They don't seem to bring back scents from the sexies or the sensuals collections.

A Little TMI

I have to go for another colposcopy on my birthday. What a way to celebrate. I had another abnormal pap in May, so I get an unpleasant present from the Gyne on Friday.

Just what I always wanted.

Of course I don't want cancer either, so I'll put up with it.

Its just a lovely way to spend my birthday, doncha think?

Ever since I knew it was scheduled I've been a bundle of nerves. I openly admit to crying my eyes out when the doctor called to tell me I had to have this done again.

The cost of the damn thing is going to hit me in the gut, and if I have to have anything else done afterward, it will really hit me.

Like I said yesterday, it isn't that there isn't affordable health care in the US it is that affordable health care won't help you. AT ALL!

Feeling Girly

I admit it. I'm a girly girl. I like pretty things and sweet smelling things. That's why I'm ususally broke. I like to buy those things! So when I get my emails from Bath & Body Works, unless its holiday time or near my birthday, I tend to send the temptation straight to the Trash. (The coupons they send me in the mail, I keep, just in case)

Well my daily email comes but it has a special deal on the fragrances that they only sell in the stores a few times out of the year. Its an online only deal. And they have Flowering Herbs and Juniper Breeze. Those are two of the three Bath and Body fragrances that I have adored since the first time I set foot in their stores.

Its one of the first emails I haven't deleted, because my bottle of Flowering Herbs is almost empty. It doesn't matter that I have about 20 other fragrances that can replace this one, its just a matter of principle! I don't want to go without the one I like best!

If only they would have kept Freesia Fields in the line up of Classics. That's my number one scent, which I hate to use, because when its gone, its gone and the thought of that makes me terribly sad.

I have a funny feeling I'll be making a purchase sometime soon.
