Miss Callie Speaks

102_2067Hi! Many of you know that I am Miss Callie, just one part of the clowder of cats that have taken over her house.

Well today I'm taking over the blog, because Miss Andrea has pissed me off.

It isn't bad enough that she gives her attention to a few of the stray cats outside, but today she had the absolute audacity to put me in the cat carrier!

I think Mr. Raymond forgot to give it a dusting too, because it sure was stinky!

But that's not the worst of it. She took me outside and put me in the backseat of her car and took me to THE VET!!

Oh the unpleasantness!

He stuck needles in me! And put something up my bum!

That's just not nice!

But I had my revenge! When I got home, I went upstairs and made a big ole poop on her bedroom floor!

Take that Miss Andrea! That will teach you to take me to nasty places like that again!

Its The Dreaded Night

Yes, Tuesday night is the bane of my existence.

Why?

Because its litter box night. A very unpleasant task, indeed and its made even more unpleasant by the fact that a few of my P Posse like to taunt me by standing vigil while I clean each box.

And do you know what they do as soon as one has been cleaned out?

They all scramble into it to take a wee or make a poo!

Little buggers!

They look so proud of themselves when they do it too.

If they weren't so damn cute...

The Kittens Are On Schedule

Or perhaps I should say they are on "a" schedule. If I'm not awake at my usual 6 a.m. they are on the bed bugging me. Well Skimble isn't, he just curled up on the blankets and went to bed. Little Coco decided to take matters into her own hands and she was biting my toes by 6:30.

To make matters worse, Miss Callie a.k.a. Mom decided that she could use the kittens litter box. Only its shallow and that means she can't cover her poop as well there. So I'm hearing her trying to toss everything she can find over the litter tray, because she's the only cat we've had that doesn't dump and run (so to speak).

What a morning!

Its just a good thing that those kittens are absolutely adorable!

Oh and I won't even mention if they don't have their can of Friskies kitten food by 7:30! Oye the mayhem than ensues then!

Oddly though, both mama and her babies have been very good. They get into a certain amount of mischief but all in all they are well behaved and very smart. (And did I mention, downright cute?)

Meet The Babies

I leave the house one day for some fun with a friend and when I come home, my cat goes into labor!!!

It only took about 45 minutes for the first one to pop out. Then in less than an hour a second one.

For the longest time we thought that it was just going to be 2 kittens a black one and a ginger/white one.

Long about 2 a.m. POP! Here comes a third kitten and then a fourth.

I have had no sleep as I spent the night monitoring the birthing process of my darling Miss Callie.

I'm proud and pleased to report, mom and babies (including our little runt) are doing well.

Aren't they just the cutest things?

Any Day Now

My little Miss Callie kitty is due to have kittens any day now and I like any other mother am worried about my little darlin' and the tiny kitties she's carrying in her belly.

Miss Callie is a tiny cat, much like my Itchy was and I hope the cat birthing isn't too hard on her. She's healthy and happy though, so hopefully that will be a good thing.

I took her in knowing she was pregnant because the thought of a cat outside having her babies after I had watched so many of them in the litter that Oogie came from get squished on the road, was too much for me to stand.

So now we are waiting, because we really don't know exactly when she got pregnant, but we do know that around the 28th of July she was nearly or at half term which would be between 30-35 days. So it could be any time now. I'm hoping its not next weekend when I'm away because there will be no one around to make sure she's taking to motherhood.

I just wish I knew more about what I need to do. I know I'll need a box with lots of towels for when the babies come but other than that I know nothing and I'm so worried for my little girl. She's such a sweetie pie, I want things to go well for her.

Meet The New Furry Babies

This is my little Callie, who you met already. She's the sweetest little thing ever.

We have no idea how old she is, just that she's been primarily an outside cat, so she's quarantined to my bedroom until she can get a check up with the vet. She's eating well, but her poo isn't quite what it should be. (aren't you glad I shared) So we're not taking chances, because we don't want any of the other kitties to get sick.

And this lovely little girl is Gumdrop. Can you tell I'm a cat person? Not that I don't love dogs, because I do, but I love the c-attitude and the personalities of my feline friends.

Again I'm not bashing dogs, I have two of my own, but the cats I've had over the last 14 years have really been special little girls and guys. Oh and like any proud mom, I think my babies are the cutest in the world

A Tale Of Two Kitties

Meet Miss Callie, the neighbor cat who has become ours, because I asked the neighbors if she belonged to them. They said yes, but that the husband didn't want the cat anymore and wanted to get rid of it.

Yikes! I never like to hear things like that, because I don't know how people mean them. I know they have an older grey cat and a boxer, so I envisioned her at a shelter, and I scooped her up and brought her home.

This wouldn't be so bad if I weren't heading to Pittsburgh today to adopt Gumdrop, another calico, from the Animal Rescue League.

Yeah, I'm the crazy cat lady!

Pictures of my furry friends will be forthcoming.
