Missing Davy

Its been 4 years since Davy Jones passed away.

I have to say that when I first read about his death, from a text from my nephew, I thought it was a terrible terrible mistake. A hoax or something. He was one of my first celebrity crushes. (Even though I was born long after The Monkees hey day)

The Monkees were my very first concert in 1986 at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. Both Davy and the Arena are now gone.

How sad is that?

No More Daydream Believing

I find that I simply can't listen to Daydream Believer now that Davy Jones has died. Every time I hear that song, I just feel unbelievably sad.

Daydream Believer was Davy Jones.

I think of all the songs he's done with and without the Monkees, that is his finest moment. A number one hit and a fantastic song. A true classic.

Sure there's Little Bit Me, Little Bit You, Valerie, I Wanna Be Free and I'll Love You Forever, but Daydream Believer...that was Davy.

Pickle still has that song in fairly heavy rotation.

I can't listen. I have to turn the station when it comes on.

It really breaks my heart to hear it.

I couldn't listen to George Harrison for the longest time after he died. Maybe some day I'll be able to love Daydream Believer again, but for now, Sleepy Jean is going to bed.

I Feel Weird

We all know I am weird.

I wouldn't be me, if I were normal, and that wouldn't be any fun anyhow.

It is the whole thing with Davy Jones.

It is really bothering me.

I mean, he's Davy. I watching reruns of the Monkees on tv from the time I was 5. The Monkees were my first concert in 1986 at the Civic Arena. They even opened the dome for the show.

I saw him in 2006 at Falconi Field in Washington, PA, with my nephew and sister. We were in the first row. The show was incredible.

66 is not old, and I just can't believe he's gone. That I won't have the chance to see him perform again. I missed the Monkees show in Pittsburgh last year..and his show with longtime friend Peter Noone.

It feels like a family member is gone. I mean this man's picture was on my wall for years.

RIP Davy Jones

This just doesn't feel right to me.

Davy Jones, gone.

I couldn't believe it when I got the text from my nephew. Then within minutes more texts and messages.

Not my Davy.

The Davy I've loved since I was 5 years old. The Monkee, who sang all my favorite songs. Gone, at age 66.

My heart is broken.

My sympathies go out to his family.

He definitely will be missed.

OMG DAVY

Last night's dream was much better, though I'm not sure where Davy Jones came from, but boy I'm glad he showed up.

So as a result I went to his official site, and lo and behold I discovered that picture you see in the corner.

~drools~

The 70's sure where kind to Mr. Jones, that's for sure. Oh mylanta and yourlanta and everyoneslanta.

But the picture has a purpose, its the cover of a CD that Davy is selling on his website.

Thanks Davy, I dream about you. I had a nice snogging dream with you, and you have to be a big whore about it and make me pay for it, because you know I want the CD!

And all of this because I was dreaming about Davy Jones and him saying L'le Me'l Bo'l Tops, like he did in the episode Monkees Ala Mode.

And no folks I haven't been taking Nyquil, so I have no idea why I'm being plagued by this wacko dreams
