Send me no wine....

Will someone get this song out of my head? Please? It's a little 2.21 minute ditty that John Lodge composed to torture me. It's one of his early attempts at "Western Cowboy" music. (Not a very good one really...but one that sneaks into your brain and makes camp)

I thought it would help if I turned the song on my winamp and let it play for awhile on repeat. I thought that might wear the song out. Did it? Nope! The damn thing is still spinning around in my head.

The problem is the song is so cheesy. I don't want to be singing this at work...in the car..EVERYWHERE!

I used to blame Justin Hayward for writing all those songs that loop in my head. I mean Justin has Vintage Wine, Don't Need A Reindeer and Lovely to See You, to name a few.

John on the other hand is more subtle in getting those songs into your head. Send Me No Wine is a song that should really make you groan and run screaming from the stereo. Instead, I'm attempting to do a bad square dance and I'm singing along.

Out. Damn. Song.

I've tried listening to other songs too. Songs other than the Moody Blues. Hell, Monkey To Man didn't lodge itself as deeply as Send Me No Wine...and Monkey To Man is a far better song. That's so wrong.

I guess this is going to be my torture for the day. (In a good way, of course) Perhaps Sunday night will bring a change, since I'm going to see Phil Collins at Mellon Arena. Don't ask. I didn't pay for the ticket, though I do admit to liking Phil Collins. (But I wouldn't have bought the ticket this year...too many other bands to see)

~sings...Send Me No Wine~

I wonder if this song can be exorcised?
