I Took The Name Of The Hayward In Vain

And therefore I must repent.

OK, perhaps I should explain further, before I'm condemned to bedlam. (again)

We were having dinner at the Breezeway Cafe at Wheeling Island, and we were discussing the Moody Blues.

Who would have thought that would have been a dinner conversation topic, right?

Well I was making some good natured ribbings on a certain blonde man's demeanor, when all of a sudden I noticed the music in the background.

I stopped for a minute, completely taken aback by what I was hearing. Then it was gone.

Like all music at this casino, it sort of fades in and out over the whir or the slot machines. But I was sure I had heard something and that something was Justin Hayward, or more to the point, the high falsetto of John Lodge singing the "ahhhhs" of Question.

Eventually the music became more prominent and I knew that they were playing "Question." It certainly freaked me out, because even though I've heard the Moodies played at Wheeling before, I've only heard Nights In White Satin.

My sister and I joked that it was the Divine One, reminding me not to speak ill of him lest I be punished.

I'll just offer up a prayer that he forgives me for picking fun at him.

Yeah, right. Still the song couldn't have been playing at a more appropriate time, and it gave us both a giggle.
