All This Useless Beauty

It's been awhile since I listened to this Elvis Costello song, but tonight my winamp threw it out at me. It's always been a favorite of mine but I go through spurts in what I listen to and well, that album and song haven't been on my list of things that I have to listen to.

But something about this song has always made me wonder. Is beauty really useless? I could argue both sides, but truth be told, I'd be more likely to say that beauty isn't useless. After all, if something brings you joy, then it serves a useful purpose, right?

So now, because it's on my mind....some useful, or useless beauty...that's for you to decide.
