Tell It To Me Tuesday

As if I don't do enough memes. I just discovered this one through Nat.

What are the best albums you believe most people have never heard?

1. Julia Fordham - East West

Beautiful lyrics and an equally beautiful voice. Her songs have appeared on several soundtracks but most people look at me oddly when I say I love her voice.

2 Glass Tiger - Simple Mission

Unless you're from Canada you probably haven't heard this album, Why? Because it was only released there. What a sad sorry shame. Glass Tiger was a true gem in world of 80's music. Infectious pop, great lyrics and a pretty cute bunch of guys. This was their last album before they split and it's definitely worth a listen.

3. John Lodge - Natural Avenue

Most people that like the Moody Blues have heard this album, but if you aren't a fan of the band this cute little gem has probably escaped your notice. The reissue that you can find now has the added single Street Cafe, which is really one of John's best cheesy silly songs. (silly weird lyrics being what he does best) From the original lineup of tracks Summer Breeze and the title track really stand out.

4. Peter Tork - Stranger Things Have Happened

This is one of Peter's solo ventures. He's truly the forgotten Monkee, yet he's a fine songwriter and musician. He was also the Monkee that didn't get very many songs, which is not quite fair, in the scheme of things. Peter has a distinctive voice and it's worth hearing. This album has a bit of an 80's tinge with one song that appeared on The Monkees Pool It album. It's great to hear it how Peter really wanted it done.

5. Terami Hirsch - Entropy29

Terami is an indie artist worth noticing, but she's not easy to find. I wouldn't have known of her had not someone on Livejournal uploaded her song Little Light. She has many albums to her credit but this one is my favorite. Check out her website and preview snippets from the album there. It's worth your time.
