Let's Talk About Insurance

They are crucifying President Obama over the Affordable Healthcare Law aka Obamacare. Why? Because there's a clause that would penalize a person for not buying health insurance.

Hmmm.

They say that is unconstitutional.

We can't force people to buy insurance.

Uh...erm...

Ok...

But you can do that when it comes to cars, right? If you own and operate a motor vehicle, you have to have insurance.

If you own a business, you have to carry Worker's Compensation insurance. If you don't and an employee gets hurt or killed, you can and probably will go to jail or get a big ass fine.

So how are these insurances can be required, but not health care. OK...

I won't pretend to understand, because nothing makes sense to me anymore.

I won't even get started on people who say that don't want government interfering with their lives but they don't mind them passing anti-abortion laws..

BAM!

That, my friends, was the sound of my head exploding.

Perhaps you don't understand the conservative 'do as I say, not as I do' philosophy.

The entire political climate makes me insane, Andrea. I'm fearful that the democrats will lose big time in elections. It pains me to say this but I'm beginning to "strongly dislike" my own country.

The car insurance argument is a non-starter. You can choose not to own a car, as millions of Americans have done, and thus not be required to have car insurance.
