Saturday Snapshot

From West Metro Mommy

My camera has sadly not been used much at all in the last 3 years. This is not me whining about my caregiver duties. (OK, maybe it is a little) But really it is simply a fact.

So I went through my flickr page and I wanted to find one photo that really brought back some great memories.

Here's one photo that has a combination of memories

This is me after the Nick Lowe concert in Pittsburgh on April 27, 2008. My grandmother passed away the day before the concert. I had spent over $100 on my two tickets and my mother insisted that I not throw the money away.

It was a sad time in my life, but the few hours that I got to enjoy Nick's music as well as that of his opening act Ron Sexsmith, were the silver lining in that dark cloud.

Now I only wish I could be that thin again!

Nice to hear about Nick Lowe. I didn't know he had made it in the States.

Losing a grandparent is hard :( but I'm sure that like your mom, she would have wanted you to go to the concert.

It's a great photo! I've never heard of Nick Lowe before. Will have to check him out!

Photos are lovely for the memories that they keep close to our hearts, even when those memories have difficult. They remind us that we survived those times in the past and that we can do so again in the future if needs be.
