Top 5 On Friday - Week 182

From Music Memoirs

Top 5 albums from the first half of 2008

There have been so many awesome albums this year already

Elvis Costello & The Imposters - Momofuku
This isn't EC's best album, but its good. On the EC scale of awesomeness it's actually around a 6 or 7. On the overall awesomeness scale it's an 8.5 because the music coming out by most artists sucks!

Dolly Parton - Backwoods Barbie
This is fun country with an added pop twinge to some of the songs, so Dolly sounds more mainstream. It's one of my favorite albums.

Jakob Dylan - Seeing Things
The world needs more of this man's music. His songwriting is as good as his dad's in my eyes, and Jakob is prettier to look at. Its a win/win situation.

Donna Summer - Crayons
The queen of disco returns with a fantastic album that will make you get up out of your chair.

Cyndi Lauper - Bring Ya To The Brink
Hell yeah, this album is awesome! Cyn is one of the icons and divas of the 80s. She's also one of the only female artists that truly reinvents herself over and over. She may not have Madonna's fanbase or record sales, but she's the better of the two.
