Cleaning Up The Zen

I hate when I take it upon myself to try to sort through the music on my Zen Vision. Yesterday I was doing a massive delete on both the hard drive and the mp3 player, simply because there is just so much stuff that I don't listen to and won't listen to, even if I had time. I'm not sure how it all ended up on my hard drive.

I admit to getting in ruts with listening, but there are artists I like more than others; The Moody Blues, Gordon Lightfoot, Elvis Costello, Grey Eye Glances, Justin Hayward and now Over The Rhine and Hem. But I hate having stuff sitting around that I won't ever listen to.

How did this stuff get there in the first place?

Most likely I listened to it once thought I might like it enough to put in on the Zen and then never listened to it again or just didn't like it at all and felt guilty for putting it there and never listening again.

I hate when I get something and I don't like it.

It's no wonder it takes forever for me to dejunk the house. I hate parting with things. It's just as bad with music, even if it would only take minutes for me to re-rip something back to my computer.

I think I made headway though. I managed to find some music files that were sent to me that weren't tagged properly and promptly got them off the Zen. I hate trying to fix tags on the mp3 player. It makes me nuttier than I already am. It's easier to take the files off, fix them on winamp and put them back.

But yay, I got something accomplished last night! That counts for something right?

Oh and the last count there were about 5700 mp3s on my Zen and close to 10,000 on the computer. Not that it even comes close to how much music I actually have on CD!

I Will Have The 30 GB Zen Vision Today!

It's on sale. It's only available at one store and I'm determined to have mine. If they don't have it, I swear I'm going to go postal on Best Buy!

I want my 30 GB Zen. My Pink Zen wants to become the Christmas Music Zen Of Doom. That's a long story, and one I'll address at some other point in time for those of you that haven't heard it.

I refuse to let my Zen slip through my fingers this time. I want the damn thing and I want it now. Instant gratification and all that BS. I also want my stupid Donnie Iris CD which I was going to buy last week, but passed up because the Greensburg Best Buy didn't have the Zen. (They could have had an extra $50.00 from me if they would have had the product last week)

Ah well, that's life.

Hopefully by tonight I'll be transferring all my music to the new player. Fingers crossed, because I really don't want to pitch a fit at Best Buy if they don't have the damn thing.

Best Buy Can Suck My Butt

I left for Greensburg today armed with my Best Buy credit card and my rewards certificate and a coupon for triple bonus points on my rewards card. I was prepared to spend $249.99 + for my Zen Vision.

Guess what?

There was none to be had at the store, and there was none to be had anywhere in the Pittsburgh district of stores. The only store that had my 30 GB Zen Vision in stock was in Altoona, PA. (I'm pretty sure that the reason for that is that people in Altoona don't know what an mp3 is yet, let alone an mp3 player)

I realize the blasted thing was on sale last week, (And guess who didn't know until it was too late)which means they sold out mid-week and because of the holiday they never got a replenishment of stock.

I could order my Zen online, but I won't get my bonus points, which really sucks. (I'd get about $15 back in bonus certificates with that one purchase)

I think it was a higher powers way of saying, save your damn money. You don't need the new mp3 player just yet.

~sigh~

And the higher power would be right. I don't need the mp3 player right now. However, I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!

Unfortunately, I'm not going to get it. And because I'm not, this is what I have to say to Best Buy, Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
