The Moody Blues On National TV

I'm pretty sure the world is coming to an end. I've heard that the Moody Blues will be playing the Jimmy Fallon show on Oct 13th.

Its a damn Thursday night...

Guess the DVR will be working, because I have to see Justiny Poo and Lodgey..and erm..Graeme.

They are playing in support of their Precious Cargo tour...which oddly will be wrapping up in Canada at about that time and moving to Australia.

Hmmm

Little makes sense in the world of The Moodies if this is true, which I hope it is...because I miss the guys!

I Wonder How Much

The Moody Blues made on those Visa commercials that are using Tuesday Afternoon in the background?

I never thought I'd see the band's music in an ad.

I guess even they are strapped for cash, or someone else owns the publishing rights to the songs.

It still came as a bit of shock to hear Justin's voice in a commercial. Its kind of sad, but then again it might get the band some exposure. I know that Daydream Believer's use in those Ebay ads a few years ago gave a nice jolt to the sales of The Monkees music.

You do what you have to get your cash these days.

The Moody Blues - The One

This song from Strange Times has baffled me from the first moment I heard it. It's a John Lodge track and I'm wondering who he was thinking of when he wrote it. As far as I know there's been no mention of the inspiration for this track written about anywhere on the web. Of course, when it comes to Lodgey, they only want to bitch about Words You Say and discuss Isn't Life Strange or ask him about Nights In White Satin, which as any good fan knows, he didn't freakin' write!

It's funny, as I listen to it now it makes me think of Pattie Boyd and her horrid biography, Wonderful Tonight/Today (depending on your country). Of course its not about her. At least I don't think it is, because I don't think Pattie's ever fallen from grace.

This song does make me wonder though, and heaven forbid any DJ or other interviewer ask them questions about newer material. That would just be appalling, because as we all know music made by classic artists after their hey days are through, just isn't worth a mention.

ARGH!

Your Wildest Dreams

For some reason today I've had a remarkable number of people showing up at my blog to see what is stuck in the tree in the video for The Moody Blues Your Wildest Dreams.

Obviously none of them thought to go to You Tube.

Duh



If you look closely in the beginning of the video, there's a scooter/motorbike of some sort in the tree. At least that's how it looks to me.

Do I get a cookie or something for solving this mystery? Does Justin Hayward come to buy me wine? Does John Lodge bring the Krisemma? Probably not..but oh well, one of life's mysteries is now solved.

If anyone wants to buy me an "Andrea is a swell girl/friend" present, well this is it.



It's a UK only release which puts it a full $10 about what it would cost if Universal would release it here in the US, which they won't, because they are wankers. They won't even release the SACDs in the US, so if fans want the Deluxe Editions of the Core 7 discs with the odd bonus material, they have to spend inflated prices for the UK discs.

There's a certain amount of unfairness to this. Of course, everything is unfair anymore.

My next question is this; Who else is going to release an album in the next two months so that I can be completely broke. I already have the Traveling Wilburys reissues, Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full and Erasure's Light At The End Of The Tunnel and the first single and The Road To Nashville Live CD ordered and preordered. That's nearly $100 in CDs right there, and I still have to preorder Nick Lowe's At My Age
