Sure I listened to a lot of music when my nieces weren't driving me totally batty, but I really only listened to one album and that was the one I reviewed.

Here it is

Train%20Company
Quantcast

And here's the picture from my Saturday walk through town.

There was a lot of weird music going on this weekend.

Eddie Izzard - Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite
Dana Fuchs - Helter Skelter
(For obvious reasons)

Keri Noble - Imperfect
(This is my new theme song)

Elvis Costello & Lucinda Williams - There's A Story In Your Voice
(I love to hate and hate to love this song)

Gary Puckett & The Union Gap - Lady Willpower
(I tend to change the lyrics to that one....)

Grey Eye Glances - The Me You See
(You know I love this band, right?)

Gordon Lightfoot - High & Dry
(Arrrr, Gord's a pirate)

Fountains of Wayne - I Want An Alien For Christmas

Random 10 - Week 122

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

The songs that stuck out this weekend were so weird and random that it's scary.

Enuff Z'Nuff - Tears Of A Clown
(This cover is so bizarre that it's going to get a post of its own when I get home from Pittsburgh on Tuesday night)

Olivia Newton-John - A Little More Love
(I heard this song when I was going into King's Family Restaurant today. It's stuck in my head most of the day too.)

The Beatles - Think For Yourself
(I've always had a fondness for this Harrison song from Revolver and it played on my Pink Zen of Doom today)

Lynn Anderson - I Never Promised You A Rose Garden
(I was whining about something and country songs got discussed and one thing led to another and here was this song in my head)

Duran Duran - Nite Runner
(Worst Duran Duran song ever but I downloaded it and listened to it about 20 times, hoping that it would get better. It didn't. PAH!)

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
(Her best of comes out in the UK this week. For some reason this song makes me think of someone

I'm all out of faith, this is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed lying naked on the floor
Illusion never changed into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see the perfect sky is torn

The first person to guess who I'm thinking of gets a cookie)

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - The Only Flame In Town
(Moodymistress sent me a You Tube video of this song that's EC without his glasses. It's not the video with Daryl Hall. Just EC, without his glasses looking quite the dishy devil Declan that he is.)

Siouxsie - Into A Swan
(I love the new Siouxsie song from Mantaray!)

Erasure - In The Name Of The Heart
(Please call me darling)

Adam Ant - Ant Rap
(Don't ask...but it made me smile)

And the picture...Atlantic City...where I was supposed to be right now...

It's all about and Fishy.

Tommy James - Love Words
(For one brief shiny moment this weekend I could listen to this song again)

Tommy James - Hold The Fire
(Same reason as the above)

Donovan - Catch The Wind
(My Friday Free For All song request)

Cliff Richard - I Will Not Be A Mistake
(The title says it all)

The Beatles - A Day In The Life
(Another song from the Friday Free For All this week)

Diana Krall - Narrow Daylight
(This is one of my favorite songs ever and it's on Fishy's songs for the Fishbowl Vol 3)

Duran Duran - Salt In The Rainbow
(A demo of a song that didn't make the Astronaut CD)

Elvis Costello - How To Be Dumb
(Apparently I don't need lessons)

Elvis Costello - Man Out Of Time
(Would I still love a man out of time? Yes)

Justin Hayward - Sometimes Less Is More
(This song is or rather, should be my mantra)

And the picture? Do you have to ask?

I think we look cute together. Don't tell him I said that.

Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time

The Clientele - Bookshop Casanova
(Thanks to Nat I have a new muiscal obsession)

Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body
(I was trying terribly to like this band again. Plans may make it to my CD collection at some point)

The Beatles - I'm Looking Through You
(I thought I knew you. What did I know)

The Monkees - Tell Me Love
(There's something extremely sexy about this song from their final album)

The Bangles - Different Light
(Another old tape that made it into my dad's car)

Henry Lee Summer - I Wish I Had A Girl
(I finally got the tape to play. Now I wish I had this song on mp3 or on CD because it's stuck in my damn head!)

Erasure - I Could Fall In Love With You
(Have I mentioned how much I love their new album?)

Blondie - Rapture
(The man from mars is eating cars again! I wish he'd eat my beretta)

Clan Of Xymox - Agonised By Love
(I uploaded this one for a friend the other day)

And now for the picture..Meet a 2 toed sloth.

Random 10 - Week 117

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

I was ripping some different music to my hard drive this weekend, so inevitably some of that was played. Plus there's the music I listened to on my drive to Washington on Sunday...most of which was accompanied by cussing, because my car CD player kept conking out, forcing me to listen to 99.3 The Pickle. (That resulted in more cussing or growling because that meant I heard someone doing their commercials)

1. Anggun - Still Reminds Me
2. The Monkees - Sometime In The Morning
3. Paul Stookey - The Wedding Song (There Is Love)
(I requested that one for my mother on Friday, because I'm a total goof)
4. The Farm - The Man Who Cried
5. Peter Tork - Giant Step
6. Paul McCartney - Mister Bellamy
(This song is so darn trippy)
7. The Beatles - You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
(One of my favorite Beatles tunes)
8. Herman's Hermits - Silhouettes
(That was on The Pickle)
9. Shamen - Destination Eschaton
10. Tommy James - Lupe & Joe
(I miss hearing this song on The Pickle)

And now for the picture..found on the Pickle website.

Fishy has silly knees. So glad I talked myself out of going. I would have just embarrassed myself, going all gaga over his silly knees. Stupid cute DJ. Stupid self that still has a stupid crush on the stupid cute DJ. ARGH!

Random 10 - Week 115

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

Most of the songs are pulled from the Zen that was on Random Play as I walked. It's funny that some of the songs were hitting how I felt most of the weekend.

Anggun - Still Reminds Me
Anggun - Devil In My Mind

(I love this lady's voice. I discovered her quite by accident several years back when her debut album came out.

Keri Noble - Talk To Me

Natasha Beddingfield - We're All Mad

Paul McCartney - Fine Line
(One of my favorite songs off Chaos & Creation In The Backyard, which is far from my favorite McCartney album)

Cliff Richard - We Don't Talk Anymore
(Perhaps he can update it for me. It's so funny, we don't email anymore)

Warren Zevon - Accidentally Like A Martyr
(I love me some Warren)

Cheap Trick - All Wound Up
(I was kinda, but not in a good way)

Fleetwood Mac - Monday Morning
(GET THIS SONG OUT OF MY HEAD)

Marillion - Kayleigh
(I haven't listened to this in yonks)

And the photo? My shameless cat Itchy

From "me" @ Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

There was a mixed bag of tunes this weekend. Most came from my computer or mp3 player and one track was played @ Kings Restaurant when we went there for dinner tonight. BTW, Southwestern Omelets with cheesy hash brown casserole is a wonderful dinner choice!

Paul McCartney - Goodnight Tonight
(That was the restaurant song)

Rachael Sage - Obvious
(If I didn't know I had listened to this song while exercising at Jack's this morning I would swear it helped to prompt that nasty dream I had)

Tim Curry - Baby Love
(A pal from Livejournal sent me this one. OMG! I love Tim. He rocked on Psych on Friday night too)

The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball
(If it weren't for that dream I would think that the worst really was over now)

Toby Lightman - Real Love
(I discovered her this weekend, however the album I snagged didn't have this song on it! I am sad)

Paul Young - Ain't No Sunshine
(A glorious cover of this classic song. Paul does justice to Motown like no other)

The Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams
(This is possibly one of my favorite songs of all times)

Grey Eye Glances - Big Red Boat
(If you don't like this song, I feel sorry for you)

Tom Petty - Zombie Zoo
(Gigglefest)

Cliff Richard - Carrie
(The first song on a mix cd in my car)

This week's picture: The dromedary says: FEED ME! FEED ME NOW!

Random 10 - Week 113

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

Elvis Costello - Episode Of Blonde

I always find myself singing these lyrics at the top of my lungs:

It's such a shame you had to break the heart
You could have counted on

Can't imagine why? Can you?

George Harrison - What Is Life?

Wheeling Island was playing that one. Wow!

Wilson Phillips - A Reason To Believe

I was reliving some of my high school days. Bad music, in a good way.

Barbra Streisand - With One Look

It's best not to ask about this one, m'kay.

Elvis Costello - Radio Silence

Words of wisdom...especially from 6-10 on 99.3 The Pickle..

The sad waste of this wonderful invention
Maintaining radio silence from now on

Julia Fordham - Perfect Me

Banderas - May This Be Your Last Sorrow

Tom Petty - Think About Me

Tom Petty - Even The Losers

These songs were a result of me sharing some of my CD collection.

The Moody Blues - Lovely To See You

The first Moody Blues song I heard before heading off to bed.

And now for the photo....Bootsie!

One of my many music memes from Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

I've been an emotional basket case this weekend most of the songs reflect that just a bit.

Midge Ure - Lied
(I'd like to sing this one at someone...never mind who...and this song is fast becoming a weekend staple for me.)

George Harrison - Teardrops
(I have my share of crying buckets full of teardrops)

The Beatles - Eight Days A Week
(Watched some Beatles Cartoons this weekend too)

Paul McCartney - No More Lonely Nights
(singing this one at the top of my lungs)

Justin Hayward - Sometimes Less Is More
(I love this song. I hate how it makes me feel)

Rob Thomas - Little Wonders
(I heard this song in Lerner's while shopping this weekend. Have I mentioned how much I love love love it?)

George Harrison - Shanghai Surprise
(Another one that has a line or two I'd like to sing to someone. It's such a cheesy, bad song...but I love it so much)

The Moody Blues - Lovely To See You
(This song has a nasty habit of getting stuck in my head)

Gary Puckett - Woman Woman
(Have you got Cheetos on your mind?)

The Moody Blues - Island
(Gosh I love this song)

And now for the picture

From "me" @ Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

Random stuff this week, because I had the Zen on shuffle everywhere I went.

Def Leppard - Two Steps Behind
(This is quite possibly my favorite Lep song and when it came on, I was singing at the top of my lungs)

Tara MacLean - Evidence
(I listened to most of Silence the other night. It's a wonderful CD. I recommend it highly)

Jimmy Somerville - Never Can Say Goodbye
(His falsetto is so good, this version blows away the original)

Elvis Presley - I Can't Help Falling In Love With You
(Blame 99.3 The Pickle for this one. I had the radio on in the car and my dad and mom love WPKL. Oye!)

Warren Zevon - Poor Poor Pitiful Me
(I send thanks out to Eliza for sharing this best of with me. I don't know why I haven't begun my love affair with Zevon before now. The man is so full of snarky goodness...god rest his soul)

Jane Monheit - If
(My zen tossed this one my way..I like Michael Crawford's version of this song better. Isn't it originally done by Bread?)

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Think About Me
(I love Let Me Up I've Had Enough...such a fun CD)

Midge Ure - Lied
(This song keeps coming up in my playlist...I don't know why.)

Simon Le Bon - Grey Lady Of The Sea
(Just a gorgeous song)

David Bowie - Thursday's Child
(Another favorite of mine)

And now the picture

Random 10 - Week 109

One of my memes from Music Memoirs:

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

My mind was on things that it shouldn't have been on most of the weekend. The songs I listened to reflect my mood. I'll upload any or all of them as long as you ask nicely.

Otis Redding - These Arms Of Mine
(Not a good song to shuffle to when exercising. I teared up on this one @ the gym. Blech)

Charlotte Martin - Haunted
(Charlotte's album On Your Shore has way too many songs that I can identify with right now.)

Ohio Express - Yummy Yummy Yummy
(I actually listened to this on my own this weekend. Shoot me! It's so bad it's good in that weird cute way)

Edison Lighthouse - Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)
(Damn Pickle for playing this one. Damn them to hell. I'll be singing it for ages)

Gary Puckett & The Union Gap - Over You
(If only. If only.)

Paul McCartney & Elvis Costello - 25 Fingers
(I'm sending a copy of the McCartney MacManus Collaboration to someone, along with a mix CD)

Fleetwood Mac - Monday Morning
(I really hate this song. Really I do. At least that's what I keep trying to convince myself.)

Fountains Of Wayne - Traffic & Weather
(A little power pop is good for the soul)

Erasure - Take Me On A Highway
(That was my general feeling this weekend. If I could have gone anywhere I would have gladly gone)

The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball
(GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!)

As for the picture...

I have no idea why he was in my head all weekend, but I wish he wouldn't have been. It made for an uncomfortable weekend.

Random 10 - Week 106

From the ladies @ Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

I was having one of those, "I'm feeling freaking bitter weekends"

Midge Ure - Lied

You lied
From your head down to your toes
You lied
But somehow I know I'll survive
And I can't believe another word you say
So go your way
You lied

Matchbox Twenty - Bent

I started out clean but I'm jaded
Just phoning it in
Just breaking the skin

Can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that Ill never
Get put back together

Brandi Carlile - The Story

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to

(I just downloaded this album this weekend. I'm still not sure if I like it or not)

Cheap Trick - Say Goodbye

How does it feel to be better
How does it feel to be on your own
Oh tell me why did you take the time
Walk away, tell those lies
Why did you waste your time
To tell me that you came to say goodbye

(One of my favorite Cheap Trick songs)

Keri Noble - Watch Me Walk

Life is to short
you blink then it's over
so now
you're going to watch me walk
out of your life

(One of three new Keri Noble songs that aren't technically released yet. I can't wait for her new album)

The Monkees - I Don't Think You Know Me

If you think I want the life you choose to live
I don't think I want the love you've got to give
If you think my goals could be so trivial and small
Then, I don't think you know me at all

Tom Petty - Even The Losers

Baby, even the losers
Get lucky sometimes
Even the losers
Keep a little bit of pride
They get lucky sometimes

Gordon Lightfoot - Shadows

And I love you just in case you didnt know
Let it go,
Let it happen like it happened once before
Its a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door

Elvis Costello - Sulky Girl

I think you'd better hold your tongue
Although you've never been that strong
I'm sorry to say that I knew all along
You're no match for that sulky girl

Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass

And if you're trying to cut me down
You know that I might bleed
Cause if you're trying to cut me down
I know that you'll succeed
And if you want to hurt me
There's nothing left to fear
Cause if you want to hurt me
You're doing really well my dear

One guess who was on my mind this weekend for some stupid reason.

And this weekend was cat picture weekend...so here's Oogie!

Random 10 - Week 105

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

The first bit is stuff...that I miss hearing on WPKL...sniffle...I want my cheesy goodness back.

WAH!

1. Mark Lindsay - Arizona
(A friend of mine in my 60's photo community on LiveJournal shared it with me. However it's now wedged in my mind and it won't leave)

2. Robin MacNamara - Lay A Little Lovin' On Me
(Uh, this Robin is a man. Yikes! Until I saw the video for this song on You Tube...I thought he was a she)

The next song is from Paul Revere and the Raiders Hard and Heavy with Marshmallow CD. Gotta love that title.

3. Paul Revere and the Raiders - Cinderella Sunshine
(There's a lot of "Sun" songs done by this band)

Fun stuff on mix CDs etc comes next

4. Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass
(My favorite song from her first solo disc, and the video features the ever yummy John Malkovich. Drools)

5. Cheap Trick - Had To Make You Mine
(Rick Nielson was doing his best Lennon/McCartney when he wrote this song...it's very Beatle-esque)

6. Grey Eye Glances - Hey Love
(Another favorite of mine from the NJ band that needs to get into the studio to record another album!!)

7. The Devlins - Almost Made You Smile
(One of my favorite not so well known Irish bands...that I think everyone should hear)

8. Shakespear's Sister - Stay
(Marcella Detroit from this band is Marcy Levy from Eric Clapton's band in the 70's and 80's. This brought me a huge WTF this weekend)

9. Erasure - Sunday Girl
(They're playing Cleveland on a Wednesday night. I just want to cry, but instead I'll just play this song over and over and over)

10 Matchbox Twenty - Bent
I've always loved the weird lyrics to this one.

shouldn't be so complicated
just hold me and then
oh just hold me again

can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never
get put back together
keep breaking me in
and this is how we will end
with you and me bent

And because I love you:

Download (tracks 1 and 3 are m4a files)

The picture this week is from McShane's Greenhouse/Florist in Rostraver...where I spent loads of money in the last 3 days.

From the ladies @ Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

I've been in a jangly guitar music mood....

Tom Petty - The Waiting
(This is my favorite Petty song ever. It doesn't get any better than this)

Grey Eye Glances - Faces
There is a face that I put on so that you say you admire me but the face I have now says the feeling is gone...
One of my favorite lyrics...

Cheap Trick - I Can't Understand It
(Best power pop out there. These guys should be bigger than they are. The music is infectious, Robin Zander is gorgeous, and they rock in concert. What more can you ask for?_

Herman's Hermits - You Won't Be Leaving
(Peter Noone singing about the girlfriend spending the night. OH MY!)

Glass Tiger - Touch Of Your Hand
(I've always loved this Canadian band, and I still think Alan Frew is a hottie)

John Lodge - Thunder Child
(I love John's version of this classic song from War Of The Worlds. Jeff Wayne should have used both Moody Men in that musical)

Fleetwood Mac - Monday Morning
(I hate this song, but I was listening to a best of collection and for some reason ended up listening to this horrid piece of work by Mr. Buckingham over and over)

Midge Ure - Sinnerman
(I love his voice...he could sing me to sleep anytime he wanted to)

Gordon Lightfoot - Carefree Highway
(WJPA plays my requests quickly. I think I may be switching stations..but I feel a strange loyalty to Fish and The Pickle at 99.3.)

Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
(I spent all weekend trying to find this song. It's one of my all time favorites. And a song I'd like to send out to the person that will only email me when they want to bitch about their job...

This doesn't have to be the big get even. This doesn't have to mean anything at all.
)

This picture is from the Aviary on the North Shore....

From those crazy ladies...erm lady...and that lady would be me @ Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

Paul McCartney - Ever Present Past
(This is Paulie's best single in years. It was supposed to be sent to radio Friday...but the station I had previously been listening to didn't get it, because ...erm...well...they suck. But I have it...so I'm happy)

The Beatles - You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
(This is one of my favorite songs from Help!)

Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen
(The best one hit wonder of all time, that was on BOB FM 96.9 Saturday night)

The Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane
(The song that followed Come On Eileen that made me turn off BOB FM...don't tell my sister)

Traveling Wilburys - Dirty World
(I was listening to the Vol. 1 today. I can't wait until June when I can get a new copy of this band's 2 albums)

Grey Eye Glances - Faces
(This is one of my favorite GEG songs. Have I mentioned I would love to see them live?)

Susan Werner - Heaven So Small
(I was listening to clips from her new album The Gospel Truth all the while hoping I can convince my nephew to come to her concert with me in May)

Tommy James & The Shondells - Sugar On Sunday
(Why can't Tommy play the Pittsburgh area? I would be made so very happy if he did.)

Nick Lowe - There Will Never Be Any Peace (Until God Sits At The Conference Table)
(I love Nick's lyrics. I can't wait for his new album!)

Tommy Roe: Dizzy
(Get this song out of my head now!!!)
