OK so I Watched Infinity Wars

Its funny, I've only been watching Marvel movies these days. There haven't been any pixar movies that have interested me lately.

So, I rented Infinity Wars yesterday and watched it late last night.

First of all, so much prettiness in one movie. I think anyone can watch this movie and have someone to drool over.

First of all...

Ironman/Dr. Strange = OMG awesomeness.

Not enough Groot for me.

I loved the idea of having all the Marvel Universe in the film, but truth be told it took a lot away from the movie because for me it just moved all over the place

And the ending...

Meh.

I don't like cliffhangers in books, I like them even less in movies.

So the movie is full of action.

It is full of eye candy for everyone.

But it is also lacking, because of all the other good stuff.

Saving Mr. Banks

Tonight I was surfing through channels. You'd think when there are over 200 channels there would be things on besides, Friends, Big Bang Theory and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Thankfully as I hit the higher stations I found Saving Mr. Banks. I wanted to see this movie when it came out, but life wouldn't allow it.

I'm glad I sat down for those two hours.

Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks were brilliant. My heart broke for Mrs. Travers as the story progressed. As you saw snapshots of her young life, it was hard not to get emotional.

For those that aren't familiar with the premise, this is the story of how Mary Poppins came to the big screen.

I highly recommend this movie, and I'm not a fan of biopics etc. It definitely made me want to read the Mary Poppins books and learn more about their author.

Anyone else see this movie?

Watching Movies Is Difficult

I bought The Other Boleyn Girl years ago, because I've always been fascinated with Tudor England. However, I'm not really good at watching movies. I've done better recently when I was getting stuff from Redbox, but for the most part, I never can bring myself to pop a movie in. It is either too late, and I don't want to stay up to watch it or I have other things to do. I've been meaning to watch TOBG for about a month now. It still hasn't made its way into my DVD player. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for movies right now. I do have a lot on my plate. I can barely concentrate on reading. It probably doesn't help much that I don't have any popcorn in the house. I mean, how can you watch a movie without popcorn. I know I can't. It might have been easier to watch if the movie were a comedy. I seriously need something to make me laugh these days. There's too many depressing things going on in my life right now. It is a shame Dark Shadows just came out a few months ago, because that's a movie I could enjoy watching with or without popcorn. Johnny Depp can make anything better.

Why Do I Buy DVDs

This is a problem I am trying to deal with.

Why do I buy movies?

I think I'm going to watch them but ultimately I never do. They sit and collect dust on my shelves. There are even some that my friends have bought me that I still haven't taken out of the wrapping.

So far here are some of the movies I need to watch:

Mind you, these aren't all the movies and shows I have to watch. There's a Mika DVD, my bff bought me and countless others. It is maddening. My only defense is, I'd rather be reading.

Where Are The Great Summer Films?

It is almost July and I have to say that there haven't been any films that have excited me enough to splurge on movie tickets.

WTF is wrong with Hollywood?

I think the only film I'm reasonably amused by that will be out soon is Dispicable Me which isn't out until July 9th.

I'm not a huge movie goer, but I do like to catch a film every once in awhile, and I haven't been since Alice In Wonderland opened. All I ask is a few hours in a nice cool theater with some popcorn and a diet coke! Is that too much to ask?


Dang, wasn't that in March or early April? And again, my summer movie is a kids film.

Geeze!

Oh and raise you hand if you think that new Tom Cruise film is going to suck?

Off To Alice In Wonderland

If it kills me I will be at the 5:10 show today. I have wanted to see the movie since it came out and I was supposed to see it this weekend, but I was too damn sick.

Well today, I feel remotely like myself, so I am gathering up the nephew and piling into my old jalopy and we are making our way to the movie theater.

So this movie better be good!

Why?

I don't usually leave my house on a week night for a movie. I'm doing that for Alice. So damn it, it better deliver.

Big Fat Liar

Saturday Night is fast becoming movie night in our household. Last night I totally wasn't in the mood for Doctor Who reruns so I turned on the Disney channel and watched Hannah Montana (Eeep, I know) and then Big Fat Liar, which was an absolutely hilarious film about a child that has a talent for telling fibs and a movie producer that stole his school project.

Its total fantasy, but it was such a great story and Paul Giamatti's bad guy is really great. Paul does a great job with the not so nice characters while not being truly evil.

When comedy is what you're looking for and you need to entertain a family or at least family members that don't want to deal with sexual innuendo that seems to spill over into every damn thing, this is a great one to watch. Its just pure fun and full of giggles.

I loved it.

Sunday Was Movie Night

Last night I bought Nanny McPhee to watch, since there's no good telly on Sundays and I do not watch football, it makes me nervous.

The movie stars Emma Thompson and Colin Firth, two of my favorite actors. Its a family film, definitely suitable for young kids, but it was so darn good.

I don't care how old you are, this is a fairy tale that's bound to make anyone of any age smile. It was well worth the $9 I spent on it at Walmart yesterday. See this movie if you get the chance.

Cheesy = Amusing

The word is FINALLY. I finally saw Music & Lyrics this weekend. If I had another 6.50..I'd sit through it again.

Why you ask? This movie is good, yes, but why is it worth the money of seeing it twice.

Hugh Grant shaking his tushie, that's why.

I could watch that over and over. Mmmmm that's a pretty sight.

And the soundtrack?

Tee Hee!

Hugh Grant sings 80's better than some of the new wave bands did. Mind you it's not intelligent music, or even good music, its fun stuff. And well, Hugh can sing to me anytime he wants.

I'm still baffled that he had to pay for sex. Cos well...I'd volunteer.

That man is so damn good looking.

But back to the movie. Girls/Ladies go with friends. It's not a movie your husbands and boyfriends will want to see. It's got chick flick written all over it. Plus if you have any love for 80's pop music...You'll fall in love with the songs Pop! Goes My Heart and the song the movie was all about Way Back Into Love.

All and all a great hour and forty-six minutes. And if your men need to see something, send em to see Wild Hogs.
