Under The Weather

I was a bit under the weather yesterday. I don't even like telling people when you don't feel good right now because everyone automatically thinks you are down with "The 'Rona"

No peeps...my stomach was wonky as fuck.

I think between work stress, the holiday (which was nice btw) and just overdoing everything, I ran myself down. I was so tired I was nauseous and for the first time in year...cookies were tossed. (TMI I'm sorry, but I want to reiterate that I was damn sick)

See pretty pics of my Easter...

I'm still not 100% this morning, but after about 9 hours of sleep I don't feel like I was hit by a bus.

The only good thing about yesterday was being able to start watching Good Omens at long last! I read the book yonks ago, so I can't really say how well things were doing in that regard, but I do have to say the show is amazing.

David Tennant was incredible, though I have to say his Demon acts a lot like the Tenth Doctor. Oh and his eyes, super creepy. I'm totally surprised at how well he plays a baddie!

Other than that I've been cleaning and reading.

How are you handling the whole corona mess?

Sharing Recipes

Sometimes I feel really sad that I have no one in my family to share recipes with. I didn't start cooking until I was in my 30s, because my mom didn't like anyone touching her old Tappan range. (Oh how I loved that big ole monster)

I quickly inherited her love for cooking. (Though I have a strong hatred for cleanup) But there are no family members to pass down recipes to anymore.

Its just like holiday cookies.

When my father was alive, cookies brought him so much joy. In his last year of life, if I couldn't bake them, I had to buy them. It didn't matter what kind they were, he wanted cookies!

Now that he's gone, a batch of cookies don't seem to get eaten.

I have no motivation for cookies.

I have no one that will say, I love what you made, can I have the recipe. I really does make me sad sometimes, especially as I love trying new things.

What A Week

Let's see... Its been a few days and things as always are a bit crazy.

I spent the better part of Friday cleaning my house, because my brother was coming home. Thursday I had my kitty Dewey to the vet. She had an eye ulcer and ear mites.

Fun Fun.

Nearly $200 later, she has eye and ear drops and is quite on the mend.

Thank God.

I have many cats, but sometimes there are a few that are super special. Dewey is one of them. She's my special girl. She loves spaghetti, chipped ham, cheese and chicken. She likes to clean the dishes before they go into the sink.

I found out she was probably much older than we thought she was too, which fills me with terror, because she's my girl.

Some people have children. I have cats. Much less problems and I don't have to put them through college.

My daybed also arrived on Thursday and we have it assembled now. The mattress should come today and I can get my reading nook all ready for my enjoyment. (And probably for the cats to barf on)

Ah well...that's life!

The hardest thing I've ever done

A little over 2 months ago, I gave up soda.

I quit cold turkey.

I thought by now the cravings would have gone away.

I've actually had dreams about drinking a coke? How sad is that?

Of course, I've also had a dream where I hugged Hillary Clinton too...so my dreams are a little odd. (I'd rather hug President Obama and Vice President Biden)

I don't know how much longer I can go without a can of soda...it is hurting....even my flavored sparkling water isn't helping.

How will I ever survive?
