Thursday Thirteen

I haven't done one of these in awhile. So here's my 13:

13 of my favorite independently owned restaurants

1. Salatino's Riverhouse Cafe, Charleroi, PA: Great comfort food and Italian food and the get some great local bands on the weekends.

2. La Fiesta, Charleroi, PA: Authentic Mexican. This doesn't taste like Chi-Chi's my friends.

3. The Red Caboose: A tiny little stand for your order, hot dog and burger stand. The prices are dirt cheap and the food is really great!

4. Red Dawg's, Rostraver Twp, PA: A great local sports bar with a better menu than some of the bigger chains. They make one of the best Reuban sandwiches I've ever tasted.

5. Meloni's, Uniontown, PA: Probably the best small Italian place I've ever been to.

6. Pasta II: Bethel Park, PA: A wonderful Italian restaurant that always has an hour wait for tables, but the food is so worth it.

7. Little Bamboo, Rostraver Twp, PA: Really awesome Chinese/Japanese food.

8. Later's, Wheeling, WV: Crepes anyone. OMG THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Plus it's mascot is a Alligator who's motto is "Eat or we both starve!"

9. Good N' Plenty, Lancaster County (I think its near Bird in Hand but I can't remember): Amish cooking. Family style seating if you like. Fun times and full bellies.

10. Hartville Kitchen, Hartville, OH: This one is run by the Mennonites. I love these people with freaky religions, they cook chicken really good.

11. Seaside Cafe, Tropicana Casino, Atlantic City: I have 2 words for you, Deli Omlette.

12. My Girl's Korner Kitchen, Charleroi, PA: A very cute little diner type place, only open til 6.

13. Rialto Cafe, Greensburg, PA: More fab Italian food.

You guys would think I was Italian by my restaurant choices, but I'm not.

13 Things That Have Amused Me Lately

1. My cat Skimble who really likes to watch TV. He does. He gets into America's Funniest Home Videos. Sometimes he gets into it a bit too much.

2. The Master on Doctor Who: OK, how can you not be amused by John Simm turning the world into a whole bunch of John Simms!

3. Fantasy Summer by Susan Pfeffer: A teenage romance I found and either read for the first time or re-read. I'm not sure which. It was fun and so unrealistic in some places that it made for a good many giggles.

4. Last night's quasi Friends reunion on Cougar Town: Firstly I don't like Cougar Town and I never liked Friends, but I watched last night out of curiosity and was just a wee bit amused.

5. Brooke Shields as the white trash neighbor on The Middle: Do I have to say any more?

6. The Snow: I'm both amused and angered by the obnoxious white stuff. Angered that I've lost a day's wages as a result, amused that I got to curl up on the couch for an extra day. (after almost getting myself killed trying to get to work)

7. That Chicken commercial that Mike posted on his blog here. Nothing funnier than a dumb blonde boob commercial that's actually about a chicken sandwich. Go watch!

8. The previews for the film Leap Year. I really want to see this movie!!

9. This LOL pic

10. Fat rolling cats!

20091226_14

11. Tiger Woods: Oh c'mon now! How can this guy not amuse you! I also applaud him for his apparent stamina. How many mistresses can the guy have!

12. Hungry Girl aka Lisa Lillien: She tries to healthify food so we can all be skinny bitches. I love and hate her at the same time. Her daily emails amuse me though, except when she demeats or over Splendas stuff. I like meat and I like sugar, wanna make something of it, bitch!

13. Craig Ferguson: Cute, Scottish and Silly. What is there not to be amused by. I only wish I could stay awake to watch his show and still be able to function the next day.

Thirteen Random Things

1. I had my ultrasound yesterday on the boobie and all is well now for another year. Yay! Now if only the tech hadn't scared a few years off my life saying but there are lots of things in this area. You do not say shit like that during a cancer screening damn it!

2. Discovered a new band called Elizabeth and the Catapult. They were on the soundtrack to Renee Zellweger's lastest awful movie, New In Town. Their song was great.

3. Why is it that I can't stay awake for the shows on at 10 o'clock. I can force myself to stay awake for Castle on Mondays, but anything else, I end up losing the last 10 minutes of at least.

4. I posted my weekly article at mossip Elfslut Says and my review of the Philadelphia band The Beloved Infidels.

5. We interrupt this post for a cute kitty pic

6. Any time I go down 2nd ST hill here in the 'Roi, I look for the Hobbit garage. Funny how you don't notice things all your life but when you find them, you always see them?

7. I've totally become addicted to Facebook. If you haven't added me yet, this is my profile.

8. The best place to discover new music is Reverbnation.

9. Why can I not finish Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book? I like it? But my cheesy romances are trumping it. I've been reading less than 10 pages a day on that one. I may finish it by Christmas. ARGH!

10. I need to get to the green house to buy mother's day flowers for the graves. I also have some posies for gram.

11. I Can Haz Cheezburger is the site that holds my sanity together!

12. Egg and Chipped Ham sandwiches = Yum

13. Pondering a Canon Powershot camera. Someone please tell me this isn't necessary to my existence?

Frustration:Thursday Thirteen Style

Thirteen things that frustrate me right now

Where to start:

~ Radiator cap and thermostat shot on Bernie the Beretta. The car is falling apart around me. ARGH

~ Why do I always forget to buy cotton.

~ 10 o'clock telly is the demon. I always fall asleep during the last 10 minutes.

~ The Doctor Who Mixtape I'm making. I still need songs for Doctors 6 and 7 and I have no inspiration for these two guys as their doctors are ones I haven't watched much.

~ I have too much shit to do and not enough time to do it.

~ My hours at work are still cut. (Though I'm not sure how frustrated I really am about this)

~ The kittens never let me sleep past 7.

~ The weather, is it hot is it cold.

~ I need a day off, but I don't know if I'm getting vacation days this year.

~ I keep trying to figure out if I can take a road trip this year. All signs are pointing to a big fat NO!

~ Need to clip the dog. The dog gets feisty when I do this and it takes FOREVER to do.

~ Need to clean, but anytime I go to do something someone is in the room I need to be in...can you guess that room is the freaking bathroom?

~ 2 reviews I must write for mossip but my time its non-existent!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that have made me smile in the last 7 days:

~ Being able to grab onto an extremely sexy man several times without being shooed away like a gnat! (And being able to give him a few hugs. I like hugs. The more the better)

~ The song Am I Here Yet (Return To Sender) by Billie Myers.
Lyrics ~ You wear a suit, I wear a smile. (Can't be any truer than that)

~ Having someone ask me if I've been losing weight, because my ass looks smaller.

~ Rob Grill joking that his guitar was stuck so he had to play one final song, Saturday night.

~ This picture:

~ And this picture:

~ Finding out from my favorite person that I'm going to get to see Across The Universe this weekend, at long last.

~ Trading emails with the same person about the Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland.

~ Watching the fuzzy wuzzy caterpillars squirm around the lot at work.

~ Fitting into the size 4 jeans that I didn't think my butt would squeeze into, but I can and I can breathe in them! Yay!

~ Hearing the song Let Me by Paul Revere and the Raiders while at the gym, on my mp3 player and almost bursting into song.

~ Tiramisu at Meloni's.

~ Being teased by a member of The Buckinghams and not knowing it until the band went on stage.

Thursday Thirteen

13 things I wish I could do over.

1. The months from Jan - Mar when I let emotions take over for the first time in years. If I could do it all over, I wouldn't give a shit.

2. I wouldn't have planned trips that wouldn't happen. Oddly from the end of last year, I knew there would be no vacation for me this year. I don't know why I let myself dream of one.

3. I wouldn't have bought those Grass Roots concert tickets in Feb. for a show in Oct in Uniontown. Oct 6 is fast approaching and I have no desire whatsoever to go to the concert. Not because I don't want to see the band, because I really love The Grass Roots but for other reasons.

4. I would have stuck it out a little while longer at PRC even though that job nearly took my sanity. Maybe if I had I wouldn't be in the financial shape I'm in now. Then again maybe I'd be in the looney bin.

5. On August 25, 2007 I would have stayed home all day or gone somewhere far away from my little hamlet of Charleroi on Mon.

6. I wouldn't have let myself get sucked into working retail straight from college, even though I had big dreams of managing Kaufmann's at the time. Retail is ugly. It's even uglier at Christmas and no one seems to understand that its not an easy job, but rather a thankless one.

7. I wouldn't have gone to that Oct. concert in Cincinnati a few years back. It wasn't worth the trouble.

8. I would have got tickets to see the Wallflowers when they played the Borgata when I was there to see The Moody Blues a few years back.

9. I would have sued the pants off the company I worked for when they wouldn't give me off when my mother was having surgery a few years back. I'm pretty sure I had a case against them more then once, but I didn't have and probably never would have had the strength to go through a trial.

10. I would have gone to Metropol more. (I miss 80's night!)

11. I probably wouldn't have spent the money on one of the two gadgets I bought this year. Needless spending needs to be curbed. Even though I love my Zen and my new Easyshare camera.

12. That teal Grandam, I would never ever have bought that, even though Greta was the prettiest car I ever owned. I also sunk more money into her than any other vehicle I've owned.

13. I wouldn't have taken the advice of certain friends to do things that eventually caused only one person humiliation and grief, ME! (Oddly this relates back to number one on the list)

Thursday Thirteen

13 things that have been keeping my sanity lately

1. Amazon.com: Because I love browsing through books and music and reading reviews, even when I don't have money. However I always end up buying something or wish listing something.

2. Cat Macros! I love them. I love the site I Can Has Cheezburger. When things get rough, this site makes me grin stupidly.

3. Online friends. Cos well, there aren't many friends locally that I can have girl talk with or anything else that's necessary to keep me from going over the edge.

4. The Beatlepics community on Livejournal. Pictures of the Fab 4 make me squee with joy. Especially pictures of George Harrison

5. Writing random emails to friends. It's seldom about what's on my mind, but typing at people keeps me sane. Don't tell the finned on that though.

6. Books: Even though I've been having a hard time finding something that will hold my interest lately.

7. Staring at my pictures on Flickr. Being reminded of good memories helps when life is sucking royally as it has been most of this year.

8. Reminding myself that this too will pass. I only wish it would all pass faster.

9. Exercise: At least when the temperatures aren't in the 90's. I can't work out in the heat. I get too tired and I end up not being able to a darn thing.

10. Making mix CDs or burning things for friends. A certain friend of mine has been swamped with music from me. My online Mom Linda needs to get her computer set up so I can send her a mp3 data CD soon!!!

11. Psych and Monk....keeping the sanity on Friday nights, except when flipping tennis is on. Grrr!

12. Cookbooks: One day I will be the best cook on the block. I'm developing my mother's passion for cookbooks. Please don't tell her.

13. Dwelling on the cliche "good things come to those who wait." because I've been waiting so long something fantastic is bound to happen any day now.

Thursday Thirteen

13 random things about me

1. If dinner time gets any later I'm never going to be able to drag my butt to the gym this week. Must find alternate means of getting food. If I don't leave for the gym before 6 o'clock there's no way my butt is going. ARGH!

2. I'm the only human not affected by the Harry Potter madness. Erm they are just books people and movies, calm down and wait your turn.

3. The heatwave broke yesterday and I could finally sleep without a fan. That was a wonderful thing.

4. Kings has these fancy pancakes right now. I want them. If I can not have IHOP, someone take me to Kings for my chocolate chip pancakes. Then remind me why I'm always battling with the scale.

5. "At your journey's end you'll find a friend in me." Lovely words aren't they? There's at least one person I'd like to share them with, but since they don't care...Fuck em' No wait. They might like that.

6. I hate reading album reviews, especially on Amazon. I've found there's only one opinion that I value and that's mine. Sound clips are more helpful to me then someone else's arrogant opinion. Mind you that doesn't stop me from sharing my arrogant opinion, but I only do that on my blog.

7. Fucktard is my favorite word right now.

8. If you can't say it with love, say it with a cat macro!

9. Getting dressed in the morning is not a favorite thing of mine. I think we should be able to go to work in our PJs and fuzzy slippers.

10. Free concerts annoy me, especially when the one I want to see happens to be on the weekend I planned to be away from home. GRRRRRRR.

11. I never get any time to vegetate properly anymore. I miss vegging.

12. My car hates me. But the gas pumps hate me more.

13. We're supposed to go to Erie at the end of the month, assuming I can find a damn hotel room. So far this isn't looking good either. ARGH!

Thursday Thirteen

13 things I wish I had never done

1. Chosen to go to California University Of PA. I should have just gone to Douglas School of Business and got an Associates. My Bachelor's Degree isn't worth the paper its printed on to me. Plus I would have stayed out of much trouble.

2. The Moody Blues in Cincy...that should never have happened.

3. No one know that I had a crush on a certain finned person, including the finned one. Oh wait...I said I'd forget about those few months. Yeah right, like you can forget that kind of stupidity.

4. The Herman's Hermits concert. If I hadn't discovered that Peter was playing Uniontown, I never would have listened to The Pickle..and problem 3 would be erased entirely.

5. Retail..never would have worked in a store for even a week let alone years.

6. I would somehow not have become addicted to my computer.

7. I wouldn't have gone to Atlantic City...because then I wouldn't have to miss it.

8. I never would have gone to a costume party in the fall of 1992.

9. My shadow..I'd never have become afraid of it.

10. I'd not have spent so much on stuff that matters so very little.

11. I wouldn't let myself fall so easily and so many times.

12. I'd put myself first instead of family, which may sound callous, but so many of my life decisions were based on other people and not me.

13. I'd not have vented so quickly about things that upset me, because things that are said are damn hard to be forgiven for, even though I was the wronged party.

Thursday Thirteen

13 things I'd like for my b-day on Monday

1. No rain
2. The temperatures to be warm enough to be comfortable at Idlewild Park but not so chilly that we couldn't go to Soak Zone.
3. My My Amazon.com Wish List to shrink.
4. A certain friend to remember and actually say happy b-day. (And not on the air. A simple happy b-day in an email would do the trick...but crazy email girl is probably just dreaming about that)
5. All the food at Idlewild to be calorie free for 24 hours, so that I can eat as many potato patch fries as I can.
6. NO CAKE!
7. A good hair day.
8. An external hard drive for my computer so that I could just move all my music files to that and have the regular hard drive free of all clutter.
9. The Pickle to play Yummy Yummy Yummy, because I miss that horribly bad song. I think everyone who reads my page should email Fishy and tell him to play that song for me. I'll even provide you with his email.
10. For some of the clutter in my house to magically disappear without me having to spend hours sorting through it.
11. The money fairy to visit so I can do all the stuff I want to do this summer without guilt.
12. The car to survive the day without issue.
13. Me to survive the day without breaking down in tears or trying to commit a crime.

Thursday Thirteen

It's time for another episode of 13 things that are annoying the hell out of me right now.

1. People that ignore me for no good reason. Honest for some of the crap they pulled I could be a lot less nice than I have been.

2. If I send you an email...wouldn't it be nice if the recipient acknowledged it's receipt. This goes for the person in number 1 that I speak of...as well as a few other people.

3. People that read my blog on a daily basis and yet never leave a comment or use the shout box on the side bar of my page. (There's one person from the area that reads me daily...and it's making me crazy because I know not who they are but I know the general area that they come from. IP Addresses tell all)

4. Having dreams about being in your favorite place in the world, only it was raining in the dream. You would think dreams would let you have good weather, but NOOOOOOOO!

5. Because of odd issues, not being able to ask about the "vacation time." One day, that's all I want. One day. And I want it to be July 2 if possible, because I don't want to work on my 33 b-day.

6. Having no extra money at all. Yup, the bill monster is eating it all. It doesn't help matters I went on a small spending spree not to long ago that ate up the extra cash and created another bill or two. Damn!

7. Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom. Anyone that has driven anywhere near the Philly area should know that there is no freedom to be found there.

8. The Mart Of Wal for not carrying pita bread when I have about 80 different ideas for breakfast and lunch that requires it.

9. Have I mentioned that there are no good concerts coming to Pittsburgh this summer? And the ones that are coming are on days when it's not feasible for me to go to a show. You know like a Tuesday or a Thursday night. Blergh!

10. My leggies. Actually it's my thighs. Why do they have to be so damn huge? Blergh!

11. The wisdom tooth that's still driving me crazy. It's not tooth ache pain, it's teething pain. ARGH! At least the soreness etc isn't constant anymore, or I'd be calling up the dentist so I could have another debt monkey to deal with.

12. CD Universe for not getting me my Traveling Wilburys deluxe editions yesterday. I had my Paul McCartney CD the day after it was released, why not this one!!!

13. Cable tv for running restaurant ads after 9 o'clock. It's even more annoying when its an ad for Sonic which isn't anywhere near us. Uh, the closest Sonic is in southeren WV which is about a 3-4 hour drive. The other one that annoys me is IHOP. There are no IHOP's in Pittsburgh to my knowledge. The closest one is in Youngstown, OH. CRSE, are you coming to get me so I can eat all the pancakes I can until I explode soon?

Thursday Thirteen

Today we're doing another episode of

Thirteen things I'd rather be doing right now

1. Sleep! Since the wild wacky Easter weekend of church...where I didn't catch up on my sleep...I've actually lost more sleep. I'm such a tired little girl.

2. Walk the boardwalk in Atlantic City and I don't even care if it's raining there.

3. Make some more mix CDs, because most of the ones I have in my car are dying.

4. Be curled up somewhere with a nice blanket and a book.

5. Shopping! I'm pretty sure there's something that I need to buy. OK, there are things I want to buy, namely a 30 GB Zen Vision.

6. Filling the Zen Micro...only this time getting a better distribution of music that I like. I left off Herman's Hermit's, Grey Eye Glances and Oingo Boingo. GASP! The horror.

7. Playing with my elusive Bootsie kitty. She's still the amazing hiding cat. My mother doesn't believe we have her..she thinks we have a "ghost" cat, because all you hear is her bell...but you never see her.

8. Exercising! I'd love to be able to spend more than an hour at the gym...but as I don't get to go until about 5 o'clock...and I need my sleep...and there are so many things I need to get done at home....ARGH!

9. Spa Day! A facial would be really nice right now. Why do they have to be so damn expensive though. I've priced them at The Mountaineer and the cost is out of this world, but one I wouldn't mind paying. (Anything to boost ye olde self esteem)

10. Play with the new camera I bought last month that hasn't been used yet, because I hate to make my other EasyShare feel unloved.

11. Update my CD-Tracker list. We're up to 1850, but I'm not done yet. Plus there are things on my computer that aren't on there as well.

12. Get my first quarter local taxes paid. Have I mention that local taxes are a boil on the backside of mankind, because they aren't required to be taken out of the paycheck?

13. Have a lambic beer or two or ten.

Thursday Thirteen

This is actually going to be more like a Thursday 26.

Firstly: 13 things that most people that visit this blog on a regular basis know about me.

1. I have 3 cats and 1.5 dogs. The half being my sister's dog that stays with us most of the time.

2. My favorite bands/artists are The Moody Blues, Elvis Costello, Erasure, Duran Duran, Gordon Lightfoot, Oingo Boingo and Grey Eye Glances.

3. Photography is my favorite hobby.

5. Pretty lights and water amuse me. Combine the two and I'm comatose.

6. My car is a 1991 Chevy Beretta.

10. My favorite form of exercise is walking but the weather doesn't seem to permit me to do too much of it.

11. My mind usually resides in the gutter

12. Making mix CDs is relaxing for me and I love to make mixes for my friends. My Christmas Mix goes to almost every family member and friend. (I start making them in Oct)

13. I have a huge crush on a certain DJ...and he likes to pretend he doesn't know it.

Now for the next 13.

13 Things most of you probably don't know about me.

1. I'm painfully shy with new people in person or with people that I like. I will spend hours deliberating over something I want to say or do until it drives me crazy.

2. I've only been drunk 3 times in my life and all three times bad things happened as a result.

3. I find it easier to convey my feelings in writing than through speech.

4. I have an obsession with clothes. Macy's and Dots are my downfalls. If I see something I like, I tend to buy it and damn the consequences.

5. I also have an obsession with makeup and skin care stuff. My favorite online place to shop is Yves Rocher.

6. I need music to fall asleep to most nights. Lately I've been drifting off to Tommy James' Hold The Fire CD.

8. I am easily moved to tears..my feelings hurt easily.

9. I never forget something I consider a betrayal.

10. I'm always afraid of doing something that will offend the people I like/love/care about.

11. I don't know as much about html and webdesign as most people think I do. I pretty much know the basics and that's it.

12. The furthest I've been from home is Atlantic City to the East and Toronto to the North...Cincinnati to the West...and I've only ever gone as far as Fairmont WV to the south. I've led a sheltered life.

13. I've never had the least inclination to be married. I've had some lustful tendencies but the thought of marriage makes me shudder.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that would make me the happiest girl on the planet.

1. My sister to go back to her house and stay for a few days...allowing the rest of us a breather so we don't kill each other during her convalesence.

2. PH to decide that he's not scared of me and request that little 10 digit number that makes Alexander Graham Bell's invention ring.

3. The temperatures to hit 60 degrees at least.

4. This weekend to actually be nice for Grandma and mum. I hope this party doesn't cause too much stress on either of them.

5. To get someone to take on photo of me with my mum and my grandma, so that I can have one that wasn't studio done. There was a family photo taken in the 90's for our church directory, but it's horrid.

6. For me to lose my uncomfortable feeling at the gym. I really love the new place I'm going to. The trainer I worked with was sweet and not at all obnoxious even though she couldn't weigh more than 90 lbs. ARGH! I want to weigh 90 lbs!

7. If 2 couldn't happen...if PH would assure me that I'm not "crazy email girl."

8. A hug

9. My hair to look normal, just once without me having to fight with it.

10. Those mirrors at the gym to be less...erm...what's the word I'm looking for...EVIL! Looking at yourself while working out can be a scary thing. A very scary thing.

11. 10 lbs to leave my body....20 and I'd be happy and you could call me Twiggy.

12. Someone to pay the bill after I go to JC Penny's and buy some of the really gorgeous clothes they had in the most recent mailer.

13. A trip to Wheeling Island to gamble 20 bucks, eat, and walk about.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that are making me a bit crazy right now.

1. The weather! That damn rodent that predicted an early spring better confer with a higher power, because so far there's no sign of good weather for another damn week. ARGH!

2. My Saturday plans have gone awry. I'm going to whine now. I don't want to stay in my house all weekend. Someone have pity on me!

3. Ok...I don't know why it crept in my winamp playlist but Ohio Express' Yummy cubed reared it's ugly head to torment me. I listened to it a bit more closely this time however...cos this song is such a freaking train wreck that you kinda have to do that, just because you can't believe any person could write this kinda monstrosity.

So I googled lyrics...and well

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I got love in my tummy
And I feel like a-lovin you
Love, you're such a sweet thing
Good enough to eat thing
And it's just a-what I'm gonna do

Well...erm..eh...I guess the song is kinda about what I thought it was about. Yeah. Oye! I will never listen to it in quite the same way. However my ears will still bleed when I hear it.

And I wonder what kind of drugs whoever wrote that song was on at the time. Must've been some good stuff. Yikes!

3. My mother is starting to get the list together for my grandmother's birthday party on March 10. After all, you can't let an occasion like a 100th b-day go by. However the family that's coming for the party happens to be posh. That means I have to be on my best behavior. That's no fun at all.

4. Waiting for my refund check. ARGH! I lost 2 days of work this week because of the snow. (No pay for those) I need that check NOW!

5. Discovering I have no clean jeans to wear to work. I'm such a tard, and I should have done 2 loads of laundry the other day. Have I mentioned I hate doing laundry?

6. Trying to learn something only to have the person teaching you take over. I'm still trying to get my cooking skills perfected. I'm getting there. No one's been sent to the hospital after my dinners, but I'm damn sick of mom trying to take over half way.

7. The whole family living under one roof. 6 more days damn it! I can not wait. Then life will return to almost normal, which is about as good as it can get. (Someone save me, I don't think I can last that long)

8. Those damn Target commericals that are making a mockery of The Beatles Hello, Goodbye. Hello Good Buy. That's not funny. It is damn annoying.

9. Losing my online mom's phone number. ARGH! I had something I wanted to tell her and I went through all my IM archives and couldn't find it anywhere. With my luck, the fucktard will be in all day and I won't get to talk to her until 4 o'clock.

10. My computer chair deciding that now is a good time to fall apart. Yay one more trip to Walmart. Just what I needed.

11. Cleaning only to have what was cleaned wrecked by the extra people in the house. I would just like to add, that someone else better be cleaning the damn bathroom next week.

12. Insomnia. Where has this come from? I haven't been able to sleep until midnight for the last 3 nights and I've been wide awake at the most insane hours.

13. Here's something that's making me crazy that will make PH giggle.

There are 4 radios in our second floor...all set to 99.3, my mum's clock radio, my clock radio, the radio in my CD player and the one on my stereo. I wake up to Pickle at 5:30 (the asscrack of dawn). At least I used to wake up to Pickle. It seems my clock radio is possessed. When my alarm goes off...I get a few moments of Pickle and then it fades...and turns into 99.3 The Laurel Highlands Rock Station.

ARGH!

In Altoona!

Rock smashes pickle. That's just a little fyi.

It's even worse when the alarm goes off and it's already decided to be The Laurel Highlands Rock Station.

I don't ever want to wake up to Axl Rose or The Black Crowes. I can stand waking up to Def Leppard...but not those. And this only happens on my clock radio. The 3 other radios all play The Pickle.

~shakes head~

Go ahead laugh, but it makes me suffer.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen reasons why I hate Valentine's Day

1. All those damn commericals for Match.com and EWhoremony. Am I the only one out there that feels online dating is nothing more than legal prostitution?

2. Christmas is over and we have to have yet another holiday that encourages the consumption of chocolate. ARGH! Will someone please hide the raspberry Hershey kisses please?

3. If you're single you feel like a freak on this day.

4. I have to listen to my sister bitch about how diamonds are a horrible gift everytime a Kay Jeweler's commerical or a Diamonds are Forever commerical comes on. Personally if anyone wants to give me a diamond I will not turn it down. My ring size is 6 thank you very much and I prefer white gold.

5. All those horrid sappy love songs that you can't seem to get away from drive me mad. If Celine's heart doesn't stop going on, I think I'm going to go all Van Gogh. Oh and Silly Love Songs is one of McCartney's worst.

6. Too much pink.

7. No one's taking me anywhere to have lambic beer in a champagne glass dipped in chocolate. I cannot stress this enough.

8. All the ads in the newspaper for dinners for two and weekend retreats. Damn it, I want to retreat! I just want to get out of my house!

9. All I hear around this time of year is how there's someone for everyone. PAH! Well if there is, just where in the hell is he? Huh? Huh? I start asking this question back: Where's My Everything? <------ click to download this wonderful song by Nick Lowe.

10. I become more and more obsessed with my looks. (This ultimately makes me a cranky girl at times)

11. I begin to ponder why life is never like those romance novels I read to keep myself from dying of boredom.

12. The word love sends me into fits of rage.

13. My theme song changes from The Beatles Nowhere Man to Oingo Boingo's Skin <---- click to download the most beautiful song ever.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that I want really badly right now.

1. Warm weather to come back: I'm so not enjoying this blast of winter that doesn't seem to want to go away.

2. My Pink 30 GB Zen Vision that doesn't seem to be available anywhere right now.

3. A Kodak Easyshare Camera with 12x zoom, because the 10x zoom I have right now isn't enough for me.

4. An emachine with a flat panel monitor that my cat couldn't park his big ole butt on.

5. That lavender Dodge Neon that's been sitting on the lot in Belle Vernon for $1800 (as long as it runs, doesn't leak water through the roof and isn't falling apart)

6. The money to pay for all of this with.

7. A date with the object of my most lustful thoughts.

8. Any of the facials at the Spa @ The Mountaineer.

9. Good seats to that concert that's coming in Oct to the State Theater in Uniontown. (Mmmm The Grass Roots...Mmmmm Rob Grill)

10. My hair to grow into this cut

Only I don't want to look like Paula Abdul....ewww.

11. A chance to visit Atlantic City this year. I MISS THE OCEAN AND THE PRETTY LIGHTS!

12. The Moody Blues to play a decent venue where I can snap all the photos my little heart desires.

13. Some really bad songs to get out of my head. Stinkbomb songs! ARGH
