And The Stress Continues

If you follow me on Facebook you'll know, my oven had a small fire last night. Something must have  dripped from a pot and got stuck to the burner and when my nephew went to boil water for the plumbing issue I have, bam! FLAMES!

It took a minute for our brains to say, COVER IT!

Thankfully it didn't damage the range, cos I seriously don't need that expense right now.

Also, next range..I think I'm getting the flat top, since I can't have a gas range.

The retail gig is getting super stressful, because NO ONE IS FUCKING SOCIAL DISTANCING!

Seriously people need to care about people other than their damned selves. I understand contractors need to be out. Building can still happen. Things break! I get that.

You do not need to paint your house or complete your fucking HONEY DO list while the Corona Virus is out there.

And leave grandma and the kids at home, if you come out.

Do you not love them?

I mean there is no rhyme or reason to some of the people that are getting really sick.

I don't want to get it, m'kay?

Why can't people just listen?

Life Is Giving Me Lemons

1. Gizmo doesn't have a URI, she has a bad tooth. The problem that should have only cost me about $90 is now going to cost me $600 when all is said and done. Mind you I still have part of Scratty's tooth debacle from February to deal with. So much for new flooring

2. I cleaned the baseboards on my stairs yesterday. My cats can really projectile bork, that's all I'm saying.

3. Middle of the night panic attacks are no fun especially when they occur during Ripley's believe it or not. Did we really have to do a show about a guy who had his face ripped off by a bear and a guy that was impaled by a pole? Why did anyone need to do a show on this?

4. Thanks to Covid-19 I'm eating really poorly because I don't want to go to the store and then I don't want to waste veggies when I can't use them because I'm working. My veggie consumption is down really low right now.

5. Last week I was doing so well at my reading. This week not so much. I'm blaming stress.

How is your week treating you?

Sick Kitty

This is my little Gizmo. She's doing a blep in this picture only right now she's not feeling so good. She's snotty and her little eye is having trouble.

Thankfully her vet will see her today. I wasn't sure if they were going to because its not really an emergency case.

So I will be herding her up into a carrier and hoping for the best. She's at least 10 years old but probably older and I love her to pieces.

Corona Panic

I wonder if someone out there will write the book Love in the Time of Corona?

This whole pandemic is making me crazy.

I'm scared and skeptical all at the same time.

I've bought enough food for quite a long time. Not hoarding buying but making sure I can get through 2 weeks without really worrying much. (Like I may need milk, but other than that..I should be ok)

What gets me, are the people that are out shopping at places like Lowes, where I work part time. They are bringing their kids. BABIES even!

WTF people.

Your family doesn't need to go to Lowes.

If you are in need of home improvement/appliances/supplies send one person, unless you are a contractor.

Why are you risking your children?

Take a chill pill.

Go home!

Relax!

Oh and don't spit on your fucking money!

Seriously!

I swear more people are paying with cash right now.

Oye, cos we all want to touch that stuff.

Everyone just calm down...AND GO HOME!

Buying All The Books

OK, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be quarantined any time soon, but in case I need entertainment, (And for some reason my antenna is screwing up so I never know what I can watch that isn't streaming) I'm grabbing some freebies on Amazon.   Also, libraries are closed for 2 weeks too.

Part of me is envious of people that can work at home for 2 weeks, because my life is one roller coaster ride after another.

I've set a goal for this time when things are slowing down a bit.

I'm trying to tackle the backlog of books in my house.

I need to donate them after I finish, because somehow, I need to get flooring in my house this summer. (And yes, the books are piling up on the floor)

I've been in a real reading slump lately. If a book doesn't quickly pull me in, it takes me forever to read it.

However this week, I've read two that fall into the Women's fiction category that really pulled me in, so I'm happy.

I set a goal of 90 books for this year, which is much lower goal than I've ever had, but I have so much going on that I didn't want to fail again this year.

So what books are getting your attention this year?

Feeling Girlie Lately

OK, this hasn't been me in a very long time.

But in the last few weeks I've been experimenting with makeup again.

Back in my 20s I could drop a small fortune on cosmetics. I was totally in love with Chanel lipsticks, and we won't even discuss how much those things cost.

A year or so ago, I started getting IPSY bags, mostly to try out new skin care stuff.

That's one thing I've always tried to be good with.

I do my best to take care of my skin, even though at 45, soon to be 46 my skin still breaks out like a teenager.

But for some reason lately I've been watching makeup tutorials and I've learned how to do contouring and highlighting. (At least with Wet N' Wild Megaglo sticks)

I'm really not sure what prompted this, but I'm doing more to make myself "presentable" these days.

I'm also addicted to pretty smelling hand cream and body lotions.

Strange, isn't it?
