Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that get me going in the morning.

1. The bark of a yappy little dog, we like to call J.J. (OK I call him other things) He's my sister's dog, but until she's recovered from her accident, he's living with us. ARGH!

2. 99.3 WPKL, that blasted Pickle station. OK, strange story though. The last few mornings the radio in my bedroom has been picking up another station. 99.3 The Laurel Highlands Rock Station, in ALTOONA! Pickle and this station battle it out and the Altoona station has been winning. This makes no sense to me, as I'm pretty sure the tower for Pickle is located near the station which is less than 20 minutes away. (Right behind Cal U's football stadium) Altoona is several hours away. WTF! Explain that one Fishy!

(The Mistress of the Dark would like to add, that she wishes she woke up to Fish, but alas, she wakes up at 5:30 and doesn't usually listen to the first 2 hours of The Real Dill Pickle Morning show....Don't tell Fish)

3. Utz Sweet Potato Chips: The Mistress Of The Dark is not a breakfast person. I am however a chip person. Without a chip, particularly the sweet potato variety, I'm a miserable human in the morning.

4. My cat Oogie. I chase him up and down the stairs at least 5 times each morning before I leave for work. He doesn't like the idea that he should stay in one room, when people are coming and going in the house. He's still too curious to be out in the entire house. We don't want him sneaking outside.

5. My dog Purrbee. He makes sure I get out of bed, so that he can steal the covers and sleep the morning away, while I'm stuck at work. There's something very unfair about that.

6. My computer: If I don't have at least 30 minutes of computer time before work, with my winamp on, I get off to a very bad start. I usually blog in the morning, as well as read my dailies and check email.

7. Coca-Cola: I'm not a coffee drinker, never was, never will be.

8. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: If I don't read the comics and check out the Magazine section my day is thrown out of wack. If I miss the Weekender on Thursday, I'm really cranky.

9. Listerine or the Equate equivilant. Damn, that stuff is strong and my mouth tingles for hours afterwards. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. I think my mouth is usually more awake than the rest of me.

10. Water: If a good splash of water to the face doesn't wake me up, I don't know what will, and if it doesn't, I'm not likely to be awake most of the day.

11. My nephew Michael: He's the 14 year old one. Actually I think I get him going in the morning, because he's so fun to agitate. But then again, we agitate each other, so he counts!

12. Cold weather. I hate it. But when I go out in it, I get moving a whole lot faster. Usually to someplace warm.

13. My mum and dad. They are both out of bed a full 20 minutes before my lazy butt is. Never fear. With them around, I will never sleep in on a workday.

Must Prioritize

My after work hours are taken up by so many things I need to do. I've split up my exercise into two almost 30 minute shifts so that I get close to an hour in. I need at least an hour or more to type up anything I wrote during the course of the day in the current story project I'm working on. Plus there are those things that get thrown at me when I make my daily trek across the street to my grandma's house. There's no refusing a soon to be 100 year old lady either. It's just not nice. And I won't even mention the fact that I hate missing my evening cartoon. If I miss Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends I become rather cranky. I'm 32 going on 13, I know, and I'm proud of it.

Now it's time to prioritize for today. Hmmm what comes first on Wednesdays? Oh yeah, HUNKS!

First up are Hugh Laurie and RSL from House

Davy Jones and Peter Tork

Le sigh.

Oh and in anticipation of my favorite USA Network show returning this Friday!

James Roday...he can be my fake psychic anytime

Hmmm have I forgotten any hunks? I'm pretty sure I'm missing someone very important. Who could it be?

Oh yeah, how could I ever forget Fish! My sweet little DJ from The Pickle who plays Mandy so that it gets stuck in my head. Thank god another song replaced it. It's a shame it's Windy! Sometimes I think listening to The Pickle is bad for my health.

Take Me Back Tuesday - Week 106

Today's meme from Music Memoirs

What was the last album you purchased?
I've bought a lot of CDs lately. I think Bic Runga's Beautiful Collision is the most recent to show up on the doorstep. I am thinking of buying Tommy James' Hold The Fire, because I have another song from that CD stuck in my head. (glares @ a certain DJ)

When was the last time you listened to a cassette?
Not very long ago. I found an old mix tape that I made from the days when my car had a cassette player and not a CD player. I popped it in my stereo just to see if the thing worked. The last time I tried to play a cassette the blasted thing ate it!

When was the last time you listened to a vinyl album? (Do you know what a vinyl album is?)
It's been awhile, because as much as I love vinyl, its inconvient to listen to. Does it count that I've been drooling on my sister's copy of Gordon Lightfoot's Sundown on vinyl. Gordon was looking mighty fine on that cover.

When was the last time you watched a video (either Mtv, Vh-1 or on a DVD or VHS)?
I don't watch Mtv ever or Vh-1. I used to watch Vh-1 Classic, but even that lost it's appeal for me. I did find myself popping a VHS of Michael Crawford's in last night. I hadn't seen With My Hand Upon My Heart in years. That song is a very lovely duet with Patti LaBelle.

What was the last online music purchase you made?
I bought my nephew his b-day present and myself a present on Saturday. The nephew is getting the new Weird Al disc and I'm getting a Charlotte Martin EP.

What was the last concert you attended?
Herman's Hermits w/ The Turtles and Sonny Geraci of The Outsiders, back in Oct. There was a real adorable guy from a radio station MC-ing that show too. That's when this hopeless crush of mine developed. It didn't help matters that that cutie smelled really good too. Who said cologne doesn't make women fall at men's feet?

Another Early Morning

Looking outside this morning makes me happy. There's no snow yet! Woot! I hate when I need to be somewhere early and it's snowing. Not because of the snow, but because of the idiots that forget how to drive when the flakes are falling.

A dusting or even next to nothing makes people think that a blizzard is on the way, and frankly I don't think Southwestern PA has seen an actual blizzard since I was in my first year of college and that was in the early 90's. I believe we had a record snowfall that March too.

I seriously hope this is one of the last early morning appointments I have. I'm fine with being up at the ass crack of dawn, but I'm really lousy at functioning at such and hour. I don't know how people that have to be at work at 4 a.m. survive and actually sound perky and cute by 6 a.m. It has to be coffee, and I can't drink coffee. If I drank coffee....well, bad things would happen.

And we don't want that do we?

Now if I can get to the doctor and to work on time, life will be kinda good.

Random 10 - Week 88

From the ladies @

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

It was a weird weird weekend, musicwise. Most of the time I was playing my January mix CD.

Tom Jones - Sex Bomb
(And why does this song always make me think of someone that it shouldn't make me think of?)

Gordon Lightfoot - A Painter Passing Through
(This is a simply gorgeous song, though all of Gordon's songs are beautiful. More of them should be played on Pickle)

Catatonia - Strange Glue
(I love the lyrics to this one)

But I don't have the right to be with you tonight
So please leave me alone with no saviour in sight
I will sleep safe and sound with nobody around me

Bitter Sweet - The Mating Game
(I need to buy this CD. In fact I should have bought it ages ago. I'm living off a CDR that will probably die soon from overuse)

Justin Hayward - Forever Autumn
(Hmmm, The Moody Blues are good time rock n' roll, but Justin's solo hit isn't. Once again, The Mistress Of The Dark is left baffled)

David Bowie - Space Oddity
(It's all Fishy's fault. Hmmm I hope he left his Bowie CD at the station. More Bowie is in order.)

The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love Version)
(The Love version is the only one I listen to now)

The Monkees - Look Down
(I was listening to Missing Links 3 while trying to sort out the Pink Zen of Doom)

Cliff Richard - Climbing Up Mount Everest
(This is the song I'd prefer to have stuck in my head)

Caroline Lavelle - Moorlough Shore
(A gorgeous Celtic song)

And since his song was on my list...and since Pickle has been neglectful of The Moody Blues and Justin Hayward lately. A picture that I believe was scanned from one of the old fan magazines.

An Open Letter To Mr. Fishy Part Deux

Dear Mr. Fishy.

We've established that you are the "The Man," but do you have to torment me so? Take for instance, the choice of songs in today's Number one Monday.

I was driving from work to Bentleyville on an errand when one of the number one's came on. It was Barry Manilow. I repeat it was Barry Manilow. On top of it all, it was that song of all songs. The song that gets stuck in my head every time I hear it, since I first heard it when I worked retail at THE MALL FROM HELL.

You know the song, Fishy.

It's Mandy!

I have Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits because of this damn song. And up until today I thought I had that evil song vanquished from my mind, but no! You had to go and play it. Now it's stuck in my head again!

Because of this the world knows my shame! I own a Barry Manilow CD. Actually I own 2, but I try to forget about that box set.

I've now reached my quota of Barry Manilow for the rest of the decade. Please, no more. And while your at it, could you please make the song leave my head!!

Lovingly yours,

The Mistress Of The Dark

I Feel Censored

It's funny how you start to watch what you say when you think that someone you know, or in this case, think you know, might be reading. I hate that feeling. It leaves me with a lot of angst that I can't quite get rid of.

Because the last thing I want is for "that" person to read what's going on in my head. I have visions of laughter permeating a small office in California, PA. I think I can hear the laughter already here by my computer in Charleroi on Mon (as I like to call my little hamlet).

I get laughed at without having to have my feelings exposed. There's something about me that makes people burst out laughing.

Of course I should learn to keep my feelings to myself. It's much safer that way and I don't get laughed at as much. Which means I shouldn't let my desire to communicate take over. I went 2 weeks without saying anything to the person in question. Two full weeks without a 10 word or less email in reply, and it was probably a good thing, because then I couldn't read things into those 10 words, and I didn't have to worry about seeing an IP address show up from California, PA to make me sick to my stomach, because I know the person in question probably thinks I'm a total wack-a-doodle.

The worst part of it is, I'll never learn, because I always have that desire to put down somewhere what thoughts are running around in my head. Which is why I'll continue to embarrass myself. Or maybe I won't because I have no idea what's going on inside "that" person's head. (Probably a good thing)

Just like right now I'm tempted to send out an email, because of something "that" person said on the air. Said person is getting in shape for the new year. Funny, I think that person is damn close to perfect. Not that my opinion matters at all. I have a zillion things I want to say, but I know it's better to just shut my damn mouth, because if I say them, I'll make an ass of myself, again!

So see, I have to censor myself. It's for my own good.

This Is Definitely My Cat!

It may not look much like Oogie, but I swear that explains some of the noises I hear in the computer room after I've gone to bed. It's Oogie, breaking out my Erasure CDs and he's getting down and funky.

What I find amusing about this little animated file, is that the artist section behind the kitty is Jim Croce. You would think they'd at least put the kitty in front of the techno section in the record store!

Wow! I Accomplished Stuff Yesterday

Yesterday was one of my most productive and fun Saturdays in a very long while. I'm not sure how I managed to do anything considering the fact that I wasn't home much of the day.

~ I finally saw A Night At The Museum down @ the Hollywood @ Washington Crown Center. This is probably one of 2 or 3 movies with Ben Stiller that I actually liked. I truly think this movie was helped along by co-stars Dick Van Dyke (an awesome villian) and Robin Williams (playing a wax version of Teddy Roosevelt). I don't think it was worth $6.50, (when did matinees get so expensive) but it was entertaining and cute.

I probably should have waited for it to get to the Maxi-Saver Theater in West Mifflin, but I needed something to brighten up an otherwise dull few weeks.

~ At 1 a.m. I finished loading my music to the Zen. I've got Bowie on there! Take that Fish! Now I can get Space Oddity out of my head! I never realized how ardous the process was until yesterday. Plus my battery didn't want to charge. Grrrr! However I still have room for a few more songs! Woot! I've got stuff from the 50's through about 2006 on it. Right now a total of 963 songs. If I didn't have my files at 192 kpbs I could fit many more, but I'm a bit finicky about sound quality.

~ The nephew and I ate at Cici's pizza buffet yesterday. I've only been there a few times, but yesterday it was horrible. The pizza was cold and the service awful. At least the pizza I brought home for my sister and parents was much better. Note to self: don't go to buffets like this when all the creepy kids and rednecks are out and about. (But that's a rant for another day)

~ I have some new clothes. Yay! I mentioned that. Once again, I found the cutest things at Macy's. Just when I paid the bill off! But why wouldn't I pay with the charge card when they give me an extra 15% off for using it. I saved an extra $10. It's a woman's reasoning I tell you. Plus my new clothes are spiffy. I just need to find someplace to wear them.

~ I found my watch from Bijoux Terner's while dejunking several of my dresser drawers. Yay! It may have only been a $10 watch, but it's a damn pretty watch.

I ♥ Bloo!

Look at what I just ordered from the Hot Topic website today! I would have rather bought it at the store in Washington, but they didn't have it. Typical!

It's so darn cute and I really do ♥ Bloo!

I just wish mail order wasn't so darn expensive. There is no way it costs $5.75 to ship a T-shirt! Unless it was coming from a far off land.

I'm glad I had a gift card from my friend Jennifer so that $10 of the cost of the shirt and shipping was deflected. I don't usually spend $25 on a t-shirt. $15 is much better. However it was all too much because all in all I spent close to $100 on clothes today.

Oops.

Damn that was half of what my Zen Vision would cost. I'll just try not to think about that, and concentrate on how snazzy I'm going to look in my Bloo shirt and my other, slightly less juevenile articles of clothing. I'll also look better in the t-shirt than the Hot Topic model.

I Feel A Rant Coming On

I blame Fish for this one. It's all his damn fault because he played David Bowie yesterday. I need to hear more Bowie! I have every Bowie album that's worth having. Most of them however aren't on my computer.

I have his recent stuff and The Best Of Bowie album on my computer.

So in my infinite wisdom (read stupidity), I decided to transfer The Best of Bowie onto my Pink Zen Of Doom.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention, I downloaded my copy from a friend, so I needed to tag all 20 tracks. ARGH!

I can't begin to tell you how huge of a pain in the ass doing that is. It's almost as huge of a pain ass trying to decide which music gets to reside on the Pink Zen Of Doom!

All this because I heard Space Oddity on the radio yesterday. Remind me if I want to torture myself that I should just stick to trying to catalog my CD collection. That's much less stressful.

I'm Down...Doo Be Do Down

~ I've decided to give up on the chance of getting the new Zen Vision. I think I'm going to fill the old Zen Micro with regular music.

~sigh~

I really want that Zen Vision, but unless I have the money to pay for it, which I don't I'm not going to buy it. No more debt for me. If I can't pay it off in 2 months, it's not to be.

Isn't it cute?

~ I'm taking my nephew to see A Night At The Museum @ the Hollywood Theater in Washington. I'll be wishing I was with someone else, but don't tell the kid that, cos it would hurt his feelings, and the person I would rather see it with, well that's just me having pipe dreams.

~ I'm in the mood to make another I've Got A Crush On You mix. I've got another Beatles song for that list; Any Time At All. I really must remind myself that I'm better off when I don't let my hormones attach themself to a person who doesn't know I exist, nor cares if I live in this universe.

~ Justin Hayward's Sometimes Less Is More makes me cry like a baby. Must not play this song. Must not play that or Tom Jones' What's New Pussycat? any time soon. I don't have that many tears.

~ I found out that my Misty kitty was a very distinct and rare kitty. She was likely a British Shorthair, Blue Cream in coloring with tortoiseshell markings. There aren't many out there like her. I always knew she was one of kind. Damn it. I miss my baby girl.

~ I went back to Walmart on a quest for sweaters. I found one for 9 bucks. Woot! Erm. No. I needed at least 2. Thank god I have that Dots coupon in my email for tomorrow's trip to Washington.

Top 5 On Friday - Week 106

It's time for my favorite meme from

Top 5 songs under 3 minutes long

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - New Amsterdam (2:13)
(I love this song and this album has some great songs that you don't usually hear on it. This song can really get stuck in your head too)

The Moody Blues - Lovely To See You (2:34)
(It opens every damn Moody Blues concert)

The Moody Blues - The Story In Your Eyes (2:56)
(It closes the first half of ever DAMN Moody Blues concert. These guys are so damn predictable)

Cliff Richard - Living Doll (2:37)
(Cliff's cheesy 50's stuff is the best.)

The Beatles - She Loves You (2:21)
(Almost any early Beatles song will do, but the infectious Yeah Yeah Yeahs are perfect here....and this is a song that The Mistress of the Dark dedicates to her favorite DJ today. And frankly I don't care if he reads it! Fish you are the best thing since Coca-Cola. I'm not too big on sliced bread as you can see)

* Bonus song since I used The Moody Blues twice

The Monkees - Do It In The Name Of Love (2:08)
(It's too cute! Enough said)

Boy Is My Face Red

I always check my site stats throughout the day to see who has been visiting my blog. Most of the time it doesn't phase me in the least. Today, was another story.

Today I saw a hit that looked a bit familiar, in that, I'm getting sick to my stomach, kinda way. I clicked on the link that gives me the info on where the hit came from and my worst fears were confirmed.

Fish was at my blog this morning at 7:19 a.m.

Why am I sick to my stomach?

Because I have no idea why he was here. I didn't send him a link, though I had emailed him a link yesterday to tell him about a website about The Beatles only perfomance in Pittsburgh, PA. I did not send him a link to this blog in that email.

So he was here. And the first thing he would have had to have read was my ramblings about him being a hunk of burnin' love. Followed by a post where I ramble on about wanting a DJ to fall madly in love with me and then a post where he is a hump day hunk.

I think I have safely embarrassed myself more than it is possible. I'm sure that everyone in that station has had a few laughs at my expense and I'm sure that the DJ in question probably thinks I'm crazy. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So how many more times can put my foot in my mouth? And why can't he leave a comment here or email me or something that would say, go to hell you loony little girl? Oh wait, I know...that would require a response of more than 10 words, and I'm not sure if he's actually capable of typing that much.

I want to crawl under a rock right now.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that are part of my daily routine

1. Listen to 99.3 WPKL: My day would not be complete without listening to my favorite oldies station. I'm 32 and I like music that charted before I was born. Oh and I must point out that at least 2 hours of my listening must be when my hunk of burnin' love DJ, the Fishy Man, is on the air. I ♥ Fish. I think I've mentioned that on more than one occassion.

2. Blog: If I didn't blog I would perish. The only time I don't blog is when I'm on vacation, and even then I will try to sneak at least one post in. Except when I'm in Atlantic City where I'm too busy being enthralled by pretty lights.

3. Read: I have a book with me at all times. I may not finish a book a day but I do try to get in a few chapters a day. Oh and I'm a sucker for cheesy romance novels and trashy romance novels.

4. Moisturize: OK, I'm really careful about my skin. Which is why the last week with this skin issue has been traumatic for me. I have special creams and lotions for hands, feet, lips and eyes.

5. Read my daily list: I try to get to everyone on my blogroll once each day, usually in the morning unless time constraints don't permit.

6. Watch Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends: Yes, it's a cartoon. No, I don't have children. Leave me alone. It's my favorite TV show right now.

7. Visit my grandma. Almost everyday, unless indicated by grandma, I go down and get her mail and newspaper for her. If I miss a day and she didn't tell me to stay home, I hear about it! Mostly I think it's because she wants the goodies we send down to her.

8. Work: This is my least favorite part of my daily routine.

9. Check La La to see if there are any CDs I can trade: I've got so many awesome CDs at this site. Plus I've discovered new music through it too. Yay! My obsession is being fueled!

10. Exercise: I try to get in at least 30 minutes of walking each day or I use my cross country ski machine.

11. Play with and amuse my pets: I have 1 dog and 3 cats and a dog that belongs to my sister staying with my family. So many pets to cuddle, play with and annoy. The cats are so easy to annoy and oddly I think they like it.

12. IM my friends: Most of my friends are far away and talking to them on the phone can be expensive. Computers are really a wonderful thing.

13. Check the websites of my favorite musicians for news and tour dates. It's January and I have no concert plans for the year yet. I'm so depressed!

Why Me?

It's not fair that my love life is non-existent. It has been about 6 years since I've been on a date and there doesn't seem to be anyone off in the horizons for me.

BAH!

I can count my boyfriends on one hand!

Twice I've gotten mixed up with guys that were married. ARGH! And a third time I ended up in a rather unusual situation with a married guy, by the chance of being at a bar and drinking way too many amaretto sours.

ARGH!

Can you just say that I have a bad run of luck.

Most of my other boyfriends lasted only a few months.

Now I'm obsessing over a man that doesn't know I exist. OK, he knows I exist but I can't get him to communicate more than 10 words with me.

Just how can I convince a DJ that he should fall madly in love with me? Eh?

I should wake up from my dream world and stop hoping that I'll have someone in my life.

Hunks Return

I'm feeling a little bit better today about some things, so the hunks are back. Yay! Cos it just doesn't feel right for it to be Wednesday without hunks

The honorary hunk of this blog. I ♥ Fish

The Monkees make life so much happier.

This is quite possibly my favorite picture of George Harrison.

Sexiest man on the upper half of the 60's.

It's Justin in the "belly" sweater.

Mmmm Hump Day Hunks...Mind you, the only hunk I need is that first one.

~sigh~

Happy hunk day!

Tuesday Meme-age

First up is Take Me Back Tuesday from

What musical event would you attend that you couldn't have otherwise.
I think I would have attended The Beatles Sept 14, 1964 performance at the then Civic Arena. I couldn't attend cos I wasn't born then, and I imagine tickets were pretty damn hard to come by. Here's a site that I found while looking for the date of this performance

If you could save one musician that died tragically, which one would it be and why?
There are many that I would like to save, but John Lennon would have to be the one I'd choose. When I think of all the music that Marc Chapman cheated the world out of, I get so angry. To paraphrase his own song....Imagine all the music. I wonder if you can. I don't know what I'd do to save him, perhaps waylay him at the studio. Or find the bastard when he got John's autograph and kick the shit of him, so he couldn't pull the trigger later that evening. What a bastard that guy is. I hope he's never paroled.

If you could go back and influence either radio/or Mtv to make one song a hit that wasn't, which one would it be and likewise, if you could make sure one song wasn't a hit, which one would it be and why?

I'm only going to go back a few years for the song that should have been a hit. Duran Duran's Reach Up For The Sunrise from Astronaut was truly worthy of the number 1 spot. Perhaps if it would have made it that high they wouldn't be lowering themselves to work with the likes of Justin Timberlake now.

The song that shouldn't be a hit. Oh lordy there are so many. The question is who do I hate the most.

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I would beg and plead with Mtv never to touch these guys. I would urge them to send them back to Seattle. I would also urge them to buy shampoo and use it, as well as wearing clean clothes.

Ha! I bet you thought I was going to say Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On!

Next up is Janet's Tell It To Me Tuesday that asks: What, in your opinion, are the best satire songs?

Just to clarify, the songs need not be spoofs or remakes and/or they can be tongue in cheek or sarcastic. Really anything that has made you chuckle over the years for whatever reason, will probably suffice.

The Monkees - You're Auntie Grizelda (If you can't grin at this song, you take your music way too seriously)

Weird Al - White & Nerdy (probably one of my favorite Weird Al tunes of recent years. Any Weird Al song can make this list. I'm also partial to The Saga Begins)

Jimmy Buffett - Simply Complicated

They Might Be Giants - Istanbul (Not Constantinople)
Best song ever!!!

Fountains Of Wayne - Mexican Wine
(It's impossible not to love these guys. So much humor in their songs.)

Sorethumb - I Want To Be Your Davy Jones
(True Monkees fans can appreciate this one and Davy actually appears in the video)

No Time

I hate running around in the morning. I have no time to get anything done. My appointment with the dermatologist is at 7:15. It's 6:15 and I haven't had breakfast yet, unless you count the 4 potato chips I popped into my mouth when I went downstairs to drag Oogie's furry butt back to my room.

I hope today doesn't turn out to be as hectic as it's shaping up to be. I hate days like that. When my head starts spinning, I become totally unable to function. And it's not as if I function well to start with.

Can I just go back to bed? Please?

Good Time Rock N' Roll

OK, I've been pondering this genre (if that's what you call it) since this summer when I started listening to 99.3 The Pickle.

What the hell is good time rock n' roll and who decides what makes the cut?

Can I bitchslap this person once weekly? OK, maybe that's too harsh, can I spank them?

Why is David Bowie not in this category, but Gordon Lightfoot is? The Moody Blues are but Nick Lowe isn't. Really, who decides? And while their deciding, could they please toss out Go Now from the rotation. Denny Laine makes my skin crawl.

This is the station that supposedly plays the greatest hits of the 60's and 70's, but it stops and completely forgets certain years in the 70's and jumps back into the 50's. WTF!

Why isn't Elvis Costello played? Why do they only have 3 ABBA songs? Again, where the hell is my David Bowie? Is Ziggy not goodtime rock n' roll? What about Rebel Rebel? Diamond Dogs? Suffragette City?

Oh and how is it that The Beach Boys Kokomo and Elton John's Sad Songs (Say So Much) get airplay? Hmm? Hmm? Tell me the answer to that one! Because if you are going to play these, then why can't the station play the new albums by the artists they consider "good time rock n' roll?"

Elton John had a new album last year. The Moody Blues' December never got played anywer except on satellite stations. The list could go on and on...because Carly Simon has a new one...and so on and so on. (Not to mention Paul McCartney's newer material)

If stations like my beloved Pickle played the newer material of these classic rock people, it's quite possible the industry would see them as a viable force in sales. If the new albums were played. People would "BUY THEM!" Because that over 40 crowd listens to the radio. I listen to the radio because I have nothing else to keep me sane during my work hours and I think "Fish" is the cutest thing in Southwestern PA, in a part of the state that has a market lack of good looking men.

I ♥ Pickle, but it confuzzles me so much.
