Advent Song Calender Day 7

On the 7th day of the Christmas Season the Mistress Of The Dark gave to me, another song from her Christmas music library.

Todays song is by the lovely Sarah McLachlan.

Wintersong

If you only snag one download from my Advent Song Calender, this is the one you should snag. It's truly lovely.

Sometimes Filling Out Surveys Pays Off

I filled out a survey for a softward company that I use at work a few weeks back. It said that a certain amount of people would receive a $15 Amazon Gift Certificate.

OK, so that was my motivator right there. I figured, why not. It will only take a few minutes and maybe I'll get a gift certificate.

Basically I had a vision of a free CD dancing in my head.

Guess what?

I got an email with my gift certificate today!

Squee!

Now the question will be, what CD to purchase with that gift certificate.

Want to bet it will be by Gordon Lightfoot? (It's not going to be Harmony though, because a little birdie told me I will be receiving that one for Christmas)

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things I want for Christmas (things I can get and other things there's no hope in hell for..I'll indictate which is which)

1. A date with my DJ from WPKL, 99.3. You know, Fishie! (That would be on the no hope in hell list)

2. Gordon Lightfoot - Harmony (This one is a possibility if anyone out there loves me and looks at my wish/want lists)

3. Creative Zen Vision M 30 GB in pink but I wouldn't mind the 60 GB that's only available in black right now. (No chance in hell of my getting this until after the holiday and after the tax return comes in)

4. A Mini Cooper (Dream on Mistress)

5. A Christmas To Remember (This one's a possibility)

6. Finding Noel (Another possibility)

7. Annie Haslam - Woman Transcending (No one will get me this, because they might have to visit Annie's website to buy it)

8. An orange and white kitty with blue eyes. (No chance of this either. My buddah came to me in a dream and told me to be on the lookout for this kitten)

9. A day where the family doesn't spontaneously combust in argument. (Not a chance there)

10. A new Kodak Easyshare camera. Either the 12x zoom model or the 10x duel lens model. (Again I'm in a dream world)

11. The Emachine with a 120 GB harddrive. (Wake me up, please)

12. A Spa Day at the Mountaineer in Chester WV (Maybe for my b-day, but for Christmas, not likely)

13. My debt from holiday shopping to vanish. (Ha Ha Ha. Laugh with me!)

Advent Song Calender Day 6

On the sixth day of the Christmas Season the Mistress Of The Dark gave to me; another song from her Christmas music library.

This song is by the progressive rock band, Jethro Tull.

Their Christmas album came out the same year as The Moody Blues' December. It seemed to do better in sales too. (pouts)

The song I give to you is: Ring Out Solstice Bells which is quite possibly my favorite track from that disc.

Enjoy!

Hump Day Rememberance

George Harrison was and still is my favorite Beatle. I still remember the empty feeling that I got when I learned he had lost his battle with cancer.

So in honor of his life and music, he is the only Hump Day Hunk today.

My heart goes out to Olivia and Dhani today. George, the world misses your special humor, your music and your ornery smile.

Advent Song Calender Day 5

On the 5th day of the Christmas season the Mistress Of The Dark gave to me, another song from her Christmas music library.

Today's song is by the UK legend, Cliff Richard.

Don't worry it's not Mistletoe and Wine.

This track is from his album Together.

The song: Scarlet Ribbons

Enjoy!

My Favorite Albums Right Now

I need another musical obsession like I need a hole in my head, but I can't help it, Gordon Lightfoot is wonderful. He's a little bit folk and little bit country, which isn't my usual musical preference, but there's something about his voice and lyrics that really pulls me in.

It started with three songs, The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgeral, If You Could Read My Mind and Sundown. Jill then pointed me towards Beautiful and I spent a weekend listening to those four songs over and over. A fifth song in the form of Song For A Winter's Night was quickly added.

I now own 2 CDs and a download for the brilliant album Harmony.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love the song Inspiration Lady. I've played it over and over so many times, I think I might be able to sing along to it soon. Not that anyone would want to hear that.

The No Hotel is another favorite of mine. It's full of humor and it's just an infectious tune.

The next album that showed up on my doorstep via LaLa was A Painter Passing Through

Bliss. The title track is lovely as is On Yonge Street which made me long to go to Toronto. I haven't been there since my senior year of high school when I made the 7 hour drive just to see The Phantom Of The Opera. I've wanted to go back ever since, but I've had no luck planning a trip.

The next disc that showed up was Waiting For You

Two words for you on this one: Wild Strawberries.

These albums are of his more recent material. Maybe they aren't what longtime Lightfoot fans want, but they've introduced me to a man that should have been in my collection ages ago.

I only wish that I had known his material so that I could've caught his show at Seven Springs last summer.

Tell It To Me Tuesday

Janet wants the hunks a day early it seems. Her question this week is this : Who are your sexiest famous or semi-famous men and why?

I can't really give these an order though. My hormones won't let me. I'd jump each of them equally.

1. Justin Hayward: It's all about the smile and the eyes. The voice is important too.

2. John Lodge: He's really a cocker spaniel puppy. I mean look at those curls and that face. I expect him to come over and lick my face. And if he wanted to lick my face, I'd be fine with it.

3. Elvis Costello: Because geeks are sexy. Especially when they clean up nice.

4. Danny Elfman: Again it's the sexy geek thing, but with him it's the sexy redheaded geek thing. Hey! Composers can be sexy too!

5. Paul McCartney: Eternally sexy, but eternally stupid for not signing a prenup!

Bonus sexy men.

Fish my morning DJ from 99.3 WPKL The Pickle! Geeks are so sexy sometimes.

Simon Lebon from Duran Duran: again it's the eyes

Cliff Richard because he's such a cutie and is just an all around nice guy.

These are my sexiest men. My question now is, what am I going to do for my hump day hunks. They are already here!

Christmas Advent Song Calender Day 4

On the forth day of the Christmas Season The Mistress Of The Dark gave to me, another song from her Christmas music library:

Chuck Negron - Grown Up Christmas List

For those of you that don't already know, Chuck was one of the voices of the 60's/70's hitmakers known as Three Dog Night. I picked up his Christmas CD for less than $5.00 on Amazon and it's fantastic.

I'm not posting Joy To The World, because that one made my mix CD, but if you ask nicely I may upload it for you, because it manages to weave both the Christmas tune with the Three Dog Night hit into one beautiful track. (Oh and for those of you going what Three Dog Night hit, I say to you, The song isn't called Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog, it's Joy To The World!)

I hope you enjoy this selection.

Did Someone Say Christmas Shopping?

I made one trip to Washington Crown Center yesterday and I just about finished the hard part of my Christmas shopping. I only have two people left on my list, my brother and my nephew. My brother needs 2 gifts because his b-day is on Dec 22. Damn my mum for having kids near holidays!

The mall wasn't even crowded yesterday.

I even got a few things for me.

Woot!

A few observations from my shopping.

1. Dots seems to have loads of clothes in sizes L and up these days. And I don't fault them for that, but it would be nice if they stocked more than 2 sizes smalls per item! Grrr! Most of their stuff is made big, so those smalls are necessary.

2. The people that work in the kieosks (sp) are really getting obnoxious. The ones that are twice as in your face are the ones selling hand creams and nail products. ARGH! Get away from me.

3. I've forgiven Macy's for taking over the May Department Stores, because I found 2 pairs of jeans that fit me in the petite department that weren't regular straight leg jeans. Woot!

4. Retail sales people are not nearly as nice as they used to be. I worked retail, it helps to have a sense of humor at this time of year. If you don't, you'll die a horrible death or at least end up with a prescription for Prozac or Zoloft!

5. If there's a woman in your life, go to the Bath & Body Works now! There's bound to be something she'll like there. If not, buy anything and send it to me.

Random 10 - Week 82

From Music Memoirs

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

OK, so my weekend was all about one man: Gordon Lightfoot. Hell, I even dreamed about him. (But we aren't going there)

Gordon Lightfoot - Inspiration Lady
This song is from his Harmony CD and it's gorgeous.

Gordon Lightfoot - Sundown
Ok, this song is now officially the sexiest song on my hard drive.

Gordon Lightfoot - Couchiching
Another gorgeous track from Harmony. Everyone should have a copy of this album

Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
Did you think it wouldn't be on my playlist?

Gordon Lightfoot - If You Could Read My Mind
Another beautiful track

And when I wasn't listening to Gordon, I was in the car with a Christmas mix and a Herman's Hermits mix playing.

Herman's Hermits - A Must To Avoid
(or Mustard Boy as Michael likes to call it)

Herman's Hermits - Henry The Eighth

Grey Eye Glances - On Christmas Night

Rod Stewart & Dolly Parton - Baby It's Cold Outside
(This duet is so weird that it's good)

The Moody Blues - What Child Is This
(Could you learn another verse, Justin?)

And for the picture?

Not a bad looking bloke for 68.

Christmas Advent Song Calender Day 3

On the third day of Christmas The Mistress Of The Dark gave to me, another song from her Christmas music library. (I changed the words. Pfffbt!)

Today's song is one of my favorites. I think I used it on my 2nd mix CD card a few years back.

Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas

If you're lucky to have a Pickle station (Oldies Radio), you'll probably hear this song at least once a day. I know Fish played it last Friday and I be bopped around my office singing it. Quite a good thing I'm the only one in my office half the time, isn't it?

This song is a must have for anyone's Christmas music collection.

Wow!

I've done alot this weekend. And it's just about Sunday afternoon. Amazing!

I'm now halfway through making my mix CD cards! Yay!

I've done some vacuuming and prepared 2 bags of clothes for The Salvation Army/Goodwill. I'm really surprised at myself. I did all of this while suffering from the worst case of the crankies that I've had in ages.

Oh and the CD list? I may have made it to the halfway mark. Maybe. It's hard to tell, because when I started this list a few months back I was just adding the albums I had on my hard drive. Now I'm going back through the whole collection. I know I haven't made it to at least 4 of my CD cases, but I've got a lot of it on the list now. Plus it has a few albums I've bought downloads of over the past year.

Do you want a peak at my CD list? Click here

Today I'm going to hit one of the malls to see if I can get a few more things bought for Christmas. I think I'm going to buy a Gordon Lightfoot Best Of collection too. I'm really loving his voice right now. I especially love the song Inspiration Lady from his most recent album Harmony. (Everyone should own that beauty of an album)

Oh and in case you were wondering The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald is still stuck in my head. ARGH! But it's a good song to have stuck in my head.

Christmas Advent Song Calender

On the second day of the Christmas season The Mistress of the Dark gave to me: Another song from her Christmas music folder.

Today's song is: Shawn Colvin - Love Came Down At Christmas

Enjoy!

My Weekend Projects

OK, I'm feeling ambitious this weekend.

~ Must start cataloging my CD collection again. I've got parts of it done, but I really want to have the whole thing in a master list. For all those disbelievers out there that don't think I have thousands of CDs laying around my house.

~ Must start preparing some old clothes for the Salvation Army.

~ Must try to figure out how I'm going to get some new pants. I have one pair of jeans that I can wear to work and they are almost worn out at the bottoms, because I'm too short to be an avg and too tall for most petites. Grrr.

~ Contemplate getting an email campaign together so that the pictures of my sexy DJ from WPKL (you know, Fish) will be in a size larger than a thumbnail. I want to see him in the tux! And I can't go to the show because I've expended my concert budget for the year.

~ Burn the last few Christmas mixes so that come the first of the month I can mail all of them!

~ Take at least one nice walk while the weather is still good.

It's Official

On the first day of the Christmas Season, The Mistress Of The Dark gave to me.

A song from her Christmas folder!

And the first song of many that will be posted here, is that gorgeous tune by Gordon Lightfoot.

Song For A Winter's Night

Most people know Sarah McLachlan's lovely version of this song, but the original is well worth listening to. So go ahead and sample this lovely song. It's worth the few minutes it takes to download and listen.

Happy Christmas! There will be a song a day here until Christmas Day. Just think, in a week or so you can have a Christmas mix of your own from my vast Christmas music library.

Top 5 On Friday - Week 99

This is my meme from Music Memoirs.

Top 5 long songs (songs over 5 minutes)

1. Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
This is one of my favorite songs. It's so haunting and sad. Gord pays a fiting tribute to the 29 that lost their lives on 11/10/75 on the frigid waters of Lake Superior.

2. Justin Hayward - Silverbird
Justin is good at writing really long songs. This one is from his Moving Mountains CD. It's simply beautiful. It's probably one of my favorites from his solo albums as well.

3. The Moody Blues - Isn't Life Strange
I love this song, just because it's so strange. And if you think Nights would make my list you've got another thing coming. I hate hate hate Nights. Have I mentioned that?

4. Elvis Costello & The Attractions - I Want You
The best angsty stalkeresque songs ever.

5. The Beatles - Hey Jude
Sing it with me, damn it. Na Na Na Nananana Nananana Hey Jude!

But because I want to share the beauty of Christmas with all my blogger friends, I'll be posting one Christmas song a day here from Black Friday until Christmas morning. The downloads will only be available for a limited time so get them while you can, starting tomorrow!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen reasons why I must not eat like a pig on Thanksgiving

1. I need to lose 10 lbs to reach my goal weight of 125, which comes and goes. I'm sick of weighing in at 136.

2. If I ever do run into Mr. DJ man from WPKL, I don't want to look like a repulsive heffalump that would make him run screaming. (My personality is usually enough to make men run screaming)

3. That wacky enzyme in turkey makes me sleepy and cranky. It's best not to eat too much or their will be holiday rows.

4. My size 4 pants that I love are a bit snug. Damn and blast.

5. If I eat too much on Thanksgiving there might not be sufficient leftovers for Black Friday.

6. There are other things I need to do tomorrow, that don't involve shoving food down my gaping piehole.

7. Just because I cooked some of it, doesn't mean it's edible. (most likely it won't be)

8. A person can really only eat so much right? How many helpings of mashed potatoes before a person explodes? I don't need to find out!

9. Catching up on my sleep is much more useful and doesn't have any calories.

10. I have self esteem issues already, I don't need any more.

11. I want to remain a size small. I wouldn't mind being an extra small.

12. The cats will want some turkey too, and they can't have any if I've eaten it all.

13. I've been sick off and on again for the last week and a half, I don't need any repeats.

Does Anyone Know Where The Love Of God Goes When The Waves Turn The Minutes To Hours

The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald is one of those haunting songs that seem to stick with you after hearing it. Well, at least it sticks with me.

The photo is a shot of the Edmund Fitzgerald, one of the longest ships to sail the great lakes.

It went down on Nov 10, 1975. The cause of the sinking was never determined. All 29 crew members perished. The ages of the crew ranged from the very young at 20 to the near retirement age of 63. Several of the crew were ironically making a last trip on the Fitzgerald, only for it to be the last trip of their lives.

Gordon Lightfoot's song is a beautiful tribute to these men and their final voyage on the icy waters of Lake Superior.

To learn more about the ship and the shipwreck, visit this site.

Hump Day Lovelies

I have loads of stuff to do tonight. Lordy. I'm not ready to make pies and cookies and clean. I hate cleaning. Why can't the hunks do that for me?

Oh yeah, they aren't here.

Pooh!

Guitargasm!

Davy's got that cute thing down to an art form!

With Hugh Laurie its all about those baby blues.

Gordon Lightfoot is a unique brand of hunk.

Mmmm Gary Puckett. I bet he'd do my cleaning for me. And while he did it, he could sing Lady Willpower!

These are my hunks today, who are yours? Or hunkettes?

Without Music Life Would Be A Mistake

I don't know if that's true for everyone, but it's certainly true for me. Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. There are three things that stick out in my mind from my childhood and they all involve music. Some kids watch Mr. Rogers and Seaseme Street, I watched The Monkees and The Beatles Cartoons and Yellow Submarine. That's not to say I didn't watch those others, because I did, but the musical shows had more of an impact on my life.

I can't tell you a time when music wasn't part of my daily life. I've tried to play it. I was in band in grade school, but I'm a lousy French Horn player. I was in chorus in junior high, but I can't carry a tune.

::sigh::

Music conspires against me. But I still love it.

I've listened to music from almost every decade. My favorites are the 60's and the 80's, though the 70's are creeping in there. I've listened to all genres too. Some I love, some I can't stand. Some have their moments in my life too.

Some bands try to creep into my life but the time isn't right for them. In the mid 80's I wanted to like The Moody Blues, but something wasn't quite right then. Almost 20 years later the time was right and they are my favorite band. There's not a day that goes by that I don't hear at least one of their songs.

A year or so ago I heard the original version of Song For A Winter's Night by Gordon Lightfoot. At the time I could only love the Sarah McLachlan version, but this past summer I was acquainted with the song The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald and Sundown and I gave the original another listen. Now I appreciate the beauty of both versions.

Every song and every band has had a special place in my life. I wonder how I have any room for any more musical loves, but I guess my heart and my room will just continue to expand as my CD collection does.

Without music my life would be dull as well as a mistake.

Tell It To Me Tuesday

Janet wants to know: What are five people, places or things you are thankful for?

1. My family: I'd rather list them collectively than separately because I don't want anyone left out. Mum and Dad, sis and brother, and grandma have been there when I needed them so many times. I wouldn't leave out my nephews either. The oldest one can fix the computer and the youngest one is good for giving smiles with all his squirrelly snark. I love them all and I'm thankful for having them in my life.

2. Atlantic City, NJ: I'm thankful for the pretty lights and boardwalk as well as the food, and lighthouses and Lucy the Elephant and all the places that I haven't made it to just yet. Atlantic City is my favorite vacation spot.

3. The Moody Blues: I'm thankful for their music that's kept me sane. I'm thankful for their f-ed up touring schedule that allowed me to go to Atlantic City and Cincinnati to see them and discover new places to love. I'm thankful for their December album that has given me a love for Christmas music.

4. Phipps Conservatory: I love the flowers and Phipps is really one of the places that has helped me with my photography. Some of my best photos have come from this place. Phipps has also been responisble for me really exploring Oakland in Pittsburgh, and since I went to college in California, PA, I didn't have that chance when I was younger.

5. WPKL and its morning DJ: I'm thankful for this station for being the only radio station in Pittsburgh that I can stomach for more than 5 minutes. I'm also thankful for that cute DJ that does the morning drive. Fish makes me smile daily. Plus he's such a cutie. I want to give him a big ole'hug. (probably a wet kiss too) They play the bands I like and they get me obsessed with new classic artists too.

Listening To Love

I'm listening to the new Beatles album Love, which was mixed by George and Giles Martin for the Vegas Love show done by The Cirque de Soleil.

I'm just going to listen to it over and over again and try to imagine what the show looked like.

Why?

Because the ticket prices are breathtaking.

I can only afford to listen to the music.

Bad seats are slightly less than the most expensive Moody Blues tickets I purchased for the Borgata last summer.

Yikes!

And since getting to Vegas requires getting on an airplane, which is something I've never done and something I'm not sure I want to do, listening is likely going to be the only thing I do. (Unless they do a touring show and I doubt that)

And staying in Vegas requires more of that money stuff that I don't have much of too.

Damn, why can't I have a sugar daddy, or a...

SWEDISH FISH!

Go on laugh!

And I know you were expecting that, right?

Cos you know how much I love Fish!

Well this Fish, that is.

I'm Such A Wuss

Today's my sister's b-day as I mentioned yesterday. And I had it in my mind to call WPKL to talk to Fish this morning to get him to play her a song. Somewhere in the coarse of the weekend, my courage disappeared.

I emailed him instead.

Why did I do this?

Because I know that if I actually ended up speaking to him I'd say something totally foolish and I'd make myself look like a big ole idiot.

I've done that so many times already in my life that I don't want to do it again.

At least Pickle is coming in loud and clear on my stereo in the computer room so I can listen to Fish and grin like a stupid teenager instead of the 32 year old woman that I am.

How is it that when I shouldn't have odd bursts of courage, I do, like when Father Christmas walks into a bar?

~kicks self~

Random 10 - Week 81

Another music meme by the ladies @

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)

The home playlist has been all about Gordon Lightfoot. I discovered the beauty of his voice through WPKL. Damn that Pickle radio. It's giving me more obsessions, besides the cute little DJ, I know as Fish.

Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
(would someone please get that song out of my head)

Gordon Lightfoot - Song For A Winter's Night
(yes, it's his song, not Sarah McLachlan's, but like the nice Canadian he is, he shared it with her)

Gordon Lightfoot - Sundown

Gordon Lightfoot - If You Could Read My Mind

I need to get a few of his albums now. I'm really loving his voice.

The Moody Blues - Don't Need A Reindeer
Cliff Richard - Mistletoe and Wine
The Moody Blues - Happy Xmas
Elvis Costello w/the Cheiftains - St. Stephen's Day Murders

Big sis made a Christmas mix to listen to on the way to Wheeling today. These were some of the non-snarky Christmas tunes, ok maybe the EC tune is a bit snarky.

Elvis Costello - Mouth Almighty
Elvis Costello - B-Movie

These were just 2 of the EC songs I played on my winamp.

And the picture? I was going to post a picture of my suspension bridge, but I think Gordon Lightfoot deservest the place of honor this week. Since he's been living in my head all weekend.

Off To Wheeling

I haven't been to the Wheeling Island Casino since spring. I haven't done any gambling since I went to New Jersey in September and then I only tossed 5 bucks in a penny slot.

So don't think that I'm a gambler. I can't justify throwing money away for nothing. I have too many bills to pay to do that. I do however have a little bit of that little girl that used to blow 5 dollars on every road trip on Pacman and Ms. Pacman at the rest stops on the PA Turnpike.

Everyone that knows me, knows what I'm going there for.

The Islander Buffet! Yum!

Build your own pasta bar.

Mmmm steaks.

Mmmm shrimp.

Oh and have I mentioned, chocolate fountain?

Yum to infinity and beyond!

And the reason I'm going? Tomorrow is big sister's b-day, oops, I mean, big sister's give her presents day, and this is my present for her. She stopped having b-days at 29 which was sometime when I was in high school and I graduated in 92, so she's been holding onto 29 for a long long time.

Must Stop Watching Xanadu

Our cable company's On Demand feature has had Xanadu as one of the freebies that you can watch over and over until you turn blue in the face. I wish I wasn't trying to be one of those people that turn blue and pass out and watch it some more.

I don't know what it is about this movie, but from the time I was little, I always liked it. It's probably the music. When I was little I wanted to be Olivia Newton-John. Some girls wanted to be Cyndi Lauper or Madonna, I wanted to be Olivia.

It would be pretty damn hard for me considering she's a little blue eyed blonde and I'm a little brown eyed brunette.

::sigh::

Xanadu was also one of Gene Kelly's last films. I guess it's sad that such a cheesy film should be in such a great reperitoire but he's part of the charm of the movie. I have to say, Gene was a sexy old man too.

Now if only I could stop watching the darn movie and finish cleaning the upstairs. Life would be so good.

Cheesy move? Cleaning?

You can only guess which one wins out.

The Love May Be Returning

I actually willingly listened to some Elvis Costello today and it didn't annoy me very much. Yay. It's kinda funny that I no longer lust after him. Come to think of it, I don't really lust after any of my hunks anymore. Well except that one that keeps getting mentioned on a daily basis. You know that DJ from WPKL. Yeah. I need help.

But back to EC.

I've been weaning him back into my playlists again. Slowly and only because I spent a few days with my collection on random. At the beginning of the week I was seriously considering deleting some of the files on my computer. Mostly the bonus discs of tracks I don't really listen to anyway.

So this morning I put my EC files on random. I managed to go through an hours worth of music before I moved onto Gordon Lightfoot. But I did put him back on. And the album I have on now? Blood and Chocolate. I don't know what it is about this particular CD but if I had to say which EC disc was my favorite, I think this one would have to be it. There's not a song on it that I don't like and I can't say that of some of my other favorites, including Brutal Youth, which would likely come in second, with third probably being Mighty Like A Rose.

I feel better now that I can listen to him again. It's like an old friend coming home. I've just got to remember not to listen to North or The River In Reverse and I'll be ok.

Ode To My Lung

Cough Cough

Hack Hack

Up you come

There goes my lung

On the bedroom floor

Cough Cough

Hack Hack

I will miss you so much.

You helped me with things

Those important things

Like breathing, damn it

Cough Cough

Hack Hack

I coughed up my lung

Would someone please pass the Halls?

Top 5 Songs That Make You Laugh

1. Sorethumb - I Want To Be Your Davy Jones : How can anyone not like this song? Indie pop about the "cute" Monkee.

2. The Monkees - Your Auntie Grizelda: This is such a sweet silly song, which is why they gave it to Peter. It's funny he's so much better than how they played him out on the show.

3. The Damned - The Turkey Song: I believe this is a product of Captain Sensible. Bless his silly tutued butt. Yes, he wears tutus. There's a turkey in the house! Get it out!

4. Tom Jones - What's New Pussycat: I can't help it, this song makes me giggle every time I hear it. I love it! Tom is the man!

5. Justin Hayward - I'm Sorry: I laugh everytime he sings lopsided lovin'. I can't help it. I love this song! It's so not your typical Justin Hayward song, but hey it was written by Hall and Oates. Much love to them for writing it, and even more love to Jus for singing it and making me smile every time I hear it.

Damn This Stupid Schoolgirl Crush Of Mine

Well, I emailed my sweet geeky goobery DJ from WPKL again today. He mentioned that he comes in to work at 4 a.m. for his morning drive time shift. My mind boggled at being at work then. So I shot him out an email saying that and asking him to play The Beatles Rain, since it was so appropriate for the weather we were having then. It poured down buckets most of the morning.

Around 9:30 he started talking about my email, just when my damn boss called, so I didn't hear all that he said. Damn and blast. A double damn and blast because when it rains my Pickle reception at my office is pretty fubarred. So I had static and the drone of my boss asking me if it were still raining.

ARGH!

All when my lovely little goober was talking about my email.

I could cry.

I just wonder if the man realizes that I'm trying to engage in a rather subtle form of flirtation with him?
