Just a few updates

~ Mom had the filter placed in her vein this morning. All seemed to go well, except the anesthesia the gave her didn't agree with her.

~ Endoscopy tomorrow and maybe, just maybe she'll be able to come home.

~ Dead tired

It's Sunday! What Are You Doing?

A little lighthearted mockery at the book meme It's Monday! What Are You Reading. Why am I mocking, because damn it...with mom in the hospital, I'm not reading.

When mom is in the hospital reading is put on hold.

Why?

Because she can hear.

When dad's in the hospital...lots of reading gets done, because you just have to simply sit with him and his happy.

Mom expects conversation!

Yes, I'm being sarcastic. I love mom and I love talking to mom. But I like doing it better when she's at home!

Nothing To Say But Its Ok

A few updates

~ Mom has to have a filter put in her vein to prevent clots from traveling to her lungs. That procedure will likely be done on Monday.

~ Trying to clean the house a bit...its a never ending process

~ Laundry is evil especially now that it is getting cooler. How do the Amish dry their clothes in the winter?

~ This season of Doctor Who really isn't doing much for me.

~ I'm so very tired.

~ My brain can't function on doing anything. I can't read..I can't watch tv.

Life Update

I think I can safely say that life sucks. It sucks a lot.

Mom is in the hospital this time.

The blood thinners that they have her on are giving her a GI bleed and causing lots of problems.

They are considering the dreaded colonoscopy and I'm considering a few weeks on the mental health floor of the same hospital.

I was at the hospital from 9:30 last night until somewhere close to 3 in the morning and I was awake by 6 so I could beg off work, because my dad wasn't feeling well either.

I can't win for losing.

So if my blogging becomes more scarce in the next few days, know that it is just getting too overwhelming to blog.

Hurry Down Doomsday Sleep Is Taking Over

When I get in a funk, I find myself sleeping a lot. I don't mean an off day where you feel kinda blue, I mean when all the frustrations of the world just take over and drain your life force.

Yeah that's where I am again.

It doesn't help matters we have a set of neighbors that have no respect for people. They are remodeling their house. (which they don't live in yet, and haven't lived in for the past year or so since they bought it) And they only work on the house on the weekend. They come with a contractor who always parks his vehicle in front of our garage. (good thing its my dad's car that's in there or we'd really be pissed) Then they take up the rest of the block.

Now yesterday was a fun one.

They show up at 7:30, and thanks to my sister's piece of crap car which broke down the night before, I got wedged in. As in, there was no room for me to get my car out of its spot. (And if I had left, I wouldn't have one when I came back)

So needless to say, I got nothing done, because they were next door til 5 o'clock.

Trust me when I say, you don't want to spent a full 24 hours in my house.

It is depressing.

I think I fell asleep before 10 last night.

Things That Annoy

I've been blogging for many years. I passed the 10 year mark in August! Can you believe that? In those 10 years I've discussed things that annoy me.

Today I'm going to do the things that annoy me about blogs.

1. Tips for bloggers: OMG no! Blogs and bloggers that take themselves too serious scare me.

2. Blogger: I love blogger, but I hate the new blogger platform, it screws stuff up. Over at my book blog, I take part in some book tours and we're sent press kits etc. If I go to copy and paste the author and book info when I post the background turns white and not pretty. If I switch to edit html I have to re-link things.

Boo hiss!

3. Bloggers that do nothing but memes. I love memes! Cat Thursday and my Top 5 are part of my routine, but some people really overkill on the memes.

4. That said, people that need to mold their blog into something they think the world will like. Now unless you are a celebrity or you are blogging for professional reasons, the world's approval is not needed. People who treat their blogs like a job freak me out! Shouldn't this be a fun hobby?

5. Bloggers that try to extort money out of their readers. Yeah paypal links on personal blogs freak me the hell out. Seriously...if your writing is so good why aren't you doing it professionally?

I think that's enough for now? Don't you?

Where Has My Fishy Gone

I found out today that Fishy, aka Robert Herring, the DJ I used to crush on terribly has left WPKL! I knew something was up on Friday when I was listening, but there was so much crazy stuff going on at work that I missed what he was talking about.

Now he's gone.

I kinda feel sad that I won't hear him anymore, because I'm pretty sure he didn't get a job on another local station.

Sigh.

He will be missed at the Pickle. He was a fun DJ...and I enjoyed harassing him on the radio.

I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

 I thought I'd share some of my pictures of my cats being silly.

All Is Well

Miss Dewey came home today after her spay surgery.

I've never seen a cat walk like it was drunk until today.

Poor baby was bobbing and weaving all over the place in an effort to get comfy

She must have had a later surgery, because she was obviously still feeling the effects of the anesthesia.  Here's hoping she returns to her happy bouncy kitty self in a day or two.

Right now she's sleeping on the couch with mom.

That's so darn cute!

Summer's Over

Labor Day is now come and gone, hence so is summer.

Will someone please pass that memo on to mother nature?

I really want some unseasonably cool temperatures.

Not cold mind you, but cool.

The only thing that really sucks about summer's passing is that there are no days off for me now until Thanksgiving.

Damn that's a long 2 months.

And two of my 4 remaining vacation days are going to be attached to Christmas and Thanksgiving. It is a shame I can't take Christmas week off, that would be a joy to behold.

~sigh~

All this talk of vacation days has made me sleepy....

I really need one though....a vacation that is..

Weekend Recap

Oh yeah...

I did nothing!

I big ole zippo!

3 days and I did nothing productive..other than my usual weekend tasks of laundry and grocery shopping.

I don't know why I get excited about three day weekends..

It just means an extra day of headache for me.

I love Doctor Who..but I think the 5 minute lead in to the new series almost trumped the new episode.

There's a whole lot of rain coming down right now.

I thought it was the remnants of Issac, but I was wrong. It is just a cool front blowing on by. And what a cool front it is. The lightning and the thunder were a bit scary. Actually all the lightning I've seen this summer has been scary.

Everything has been a bit too close for comfort.

When I see the zigzags in the sky, I get a little bit shaky.

And there's more rain and storms coming for the next 2 days.
