Most of you know that I have a book blog where I share reviews and thoughts on books. The book blogging community is often a very scary place to be.
So many people take blogging too seriously.
There are people that host meme type posts about how you should blog.
Tips for blogging.
I think the problem is that too many people try to make money from their blogs or somehow get famous blogging.
Oye to the vey!
Blog because you want to. Blog because it is fun. Blog because you have something to say, but don't follow any other num nuts rules about how you should do it.

Amen to that!
I hear you sister!!
All those blogs that have a zillion things popping up everywhere, so cluttered, that I can't read them!!
This is why I always accept topics to blog about, but never guidance on what to say or how to say it. Blogging is my creative outlet and primary non-grandchildren-or-dancing source of fun, and if others want to share it with me, that's great. Just let me know if I start to take myself too seriously...
The only exception I see is when companies use blogs to boost business, which I think is an awesome idea. With blogging still being kind of new, some people need guidance. I actually took a college class on how to maintain a good, focused blog and have some moderate success with it, but I was a writing major and such a class gives you kind of a boost when you're looking for a job, especially if you can go to one of those companies and say, "Look, I actually know how to do this well in this medium."
