The Post Where The Music Whore Discusses Everything
~ My kitty Gizmo had a most unpleasant abscess and an expensive one at that. This is my year for costly vet visits. Such fun.
~ Paul McCartney and Katy Perry on Graham Norton: If you haven't watched this episode, hunt it down. James Corgan from Gavin & Stacey and those fab guest spots on Doctor Who. Seriously, Katy Perry has to be one of the sweetest celebs.
~ Coolest new video..Erasure's Gaudete for their new Christmas album Snow Globe!
~ I have no life, my Saturday nights are spent watching Too Cute on animal planet, and wishing I had the houses this cats and doggies had. They should rename this show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Baby Animals! Even the foster pets live in style!
~ I was totally disappointed in The 10th Doctor Revisited. Why couldn't they get all of the companions? Martha and Jack? And the dude that played the Sontaran. Blech. David's episode was almost as boring as The 9th Doctor.
~ Speaking of things that are disappointing...The Big Bang Theory. I know I'm the only one that probably feels this way, but the whole Leonard and Penny relationship is so boring.
~ New fall shows..I'm loving Super Fun Night, The Crazy Ones, & The Millers..I think I like The Goldbergs too but for some reason at 9 o'clock on Tuesdays...the only thing I can do is sleep.

My Current Musical Crush
Pardon me while I bask in the cuteness that is MIKA.
If you haven't heard of him..and well, I'm pretty sure most of you have, at least in passing cos I'm totally loving his re-working of Popular from Wicked...you should.
He performed on Dancing With The Stars this past week with Ariana Grande, doing Popular Song.
Watch and enjoy!

Tuesday Night Is Nap Night
It must be the lack of good tv on Tuesday because I just woke up form a 3 hour nap!
So I could go back to bed!
How sad am I?
Pretty sad.
Dad got his heart meds adjusted yesterday, so far they are still making him sleep more than the cats. All blood pressure meds have fatigue as a side effect but this is ridiculous. The man is asleep more often than he is awake.
As you can see, other than that...life is so uneventful here.
That's is a good thing, I guess. I don't want any more hospital trips this year. We've had enough.
So on that note..I'm going to take another nap

Target Is Pissing Me Off
If you've seen today's sale at for Target, you've seen that there is an awesome sale on women's sweaters. $15! That's a great price, and the quality of Target's clothing has always been excellent. I wanted to by a few, since the cold weather is coming...and well..I need some new clothes.
However....
And that is more like HOWEVER
When I started to add the sweaters that were from the $15 page..I found that they weren't showing up at the sale price in my shopping cart.
Boo to you Target.
Get this fixed.
I have a bunch of sweaters I want to buy..but not at $24.99
Grrrr

Novelty Songs Still Exist
Sometimes I'm glad I don't pay much attention to Mtv anymore or any other music channel, because I'd see things that make me go hmmmm much too often.
Last week, in the fits of my worrying over dad, my friend, Tina sent me a link for a song...that really made me go hmmmm. I also chuckled...
This is beyond warped...that's all I have to say on this matter, but it is funny as hell

Happy Birthday Justin Hayward!
I'm pretty sure my fan status is about to be revoked. If it weren't for a message on the Moody Blues Facebook page, I totally would have forgotten that today was Justin Hayward's birthday.
67 years old.
Wow!
It made me reflect on how his music has touched my life over the years.
Of course, I can't say I've been a fan from the start, as I wasn't born when The Moodies made their start. In fact, I was born around the time they were on hiatus.
But I had a love for all things from the 60s when I was very young. The Moodies were a band that I always came back to.
My first exposure to their music was Your Wildest Dreams and from then on, I was a fan. There have only been a handful of artists that have touched my life in the way this man's music has. (Funny the styles of the artists are really quite different..like Elvis Costello & Danny Elfman)
I am grateful for the music he's made over the years, and hope he's not done making music.
Then I think of some of the other artists that are the same age....Elton John who is alive and Davy Jones who is no longer with us...
I am so glad that Justin has made it this long, not to be morbid or anything. Those artists from the 60s seem to drop like flies very young.
But back to Justin. This is a man whose music means so much to so many people. The Moodies and his solo work are full of enduring songs, not music that you forget 5 minutes after it is over. He, as well as the band still have quite a following.
How wonderful that this man shares his talent to freely with the world.
Happy 67th birthday Justin! May you have many many more!

Top 5 Sundays
From Larissa's Life
Best TV/Movie Sidekicks!
Sheldon Cooper - The Big Bang Theory: Its hard to think of Sheldon as a sidekick, because he steals the show most of the time.
Jeff Murdock - Coupling: This was a great show by Steven Moffat before he started loving killing off characters and torturing Doctor Who fans. Jeff was the best of the Coupling bunch, cos he was so..ridiculous.
Flixster - Share Movies
Steven Hyde - That 70s Show: Eric Forman's bff and just an all around snarky guy. You have to love him.

Back To Normal and Other Musings
~ Dad is home. I'm not sure how much better he is, but he is home and that is a blessing, I think.
~ Super Fun Night is officially my new favorite show, beating out 2 Broke Girls, which needs some spicing up, cos they seem to be doing the same ole same ole in the joke department.
~ Sick of people getting up in arms about commercials. First people were peeved about an interracial couple in the Cheerios commercial. Now they are whining cos sports stars are endorsing McDonald's Mighty Wings, cos they are bad for our health and athletes are role models.
Again, remind me how we are a "free" society, if these guys aren't free to make money in these ads.
People are idiots..and parents are idiots if they can't explain to their kids that actors and athletes aren't people to put on pedestals. They are people doing a job. That's it.
~ Have actually ordered new music (The Christmas Erasure & Nick Lowe CDs and Mika's latest, which I missed last year)
~ I think I need about 48 hours of sleep to get over the last 5 days. This last hospital jaunt of my dad's almost took as much out of me as it did him.

Updates
For those of you that aren't part of my Facebook family.
Dad returned home, but is now back in the hospital with a very very very bad infection.
He's received 2 units of blood and lots of antibiotics.
This is no normal infection though, it managed to get into his blood stream so it was affecting his heart rate as well.
So essentially there's a lot of bad stuff going on, and dad is scared and we're scared for him.
So again, if I disappear, that's the reason.
Things are too chaotic.
But I will try to post updates as I have them and post when things are a little more calm.

I've Been AWOL
Dad is back home after a few days in the hospital that really showed nothing except anemia. I don't know if we'll ever find out why he's not making red blood cells anymore. His hemoglobin was only 8.6 and that was with a Procrit shot a week and a half ago.
Mom's doctor's appointment went well. Her defibrillator is probably good for another year, so yay! I don't have to worry about dealing with rides to Pittsburgh in the wheel chair van. She also got a fairly good report from the cardiologist. So yippee.
Now if I could get some sleep.
The only problem is, Dad's back home and the peace and quiet is gone.
